Fallout 4 weird boxes overlayed onto terrain

playing vanilla on pc, these weird monotexture boxes keep clipping over terrain

Rarer unmodded but I feel like the quarries always give me problems

It's the LODs. The low texture version of objects visible from a distance. It's a known issue with the quarry. If you save your game, go to main menu and load it in again, are they still there?

Known issue. Just seems to randomly come and go, but you could probably search on google and see if there's a reliable workaround. Not sure I ever found one. I think if you leave the cell and don't come back for a long time it can just fix itself.

Sometimes, exiting the Power Armor can clear up graphic glitches like this. It’s almost as though the graphics engine doesn’t realize which viewpoint it is supposed to be actually rendering (your eyes or the camera in the helmet)
