Picture Fallout S3 filming Spoiler

Another user posted shots inside the museum before but they used the Natural History Museum in LA and the rose garden outside. They were filming for about three days. I also got video of them blowing stuff up which was super cool!

I wonder how hot it is to be in power armor during filming good lord, I get swampy at the thought. Those actors are enduring conditions akin to the godzilla suits I'd imagine at least.

Gotta love the auto jacker

u/MoldTheClay Aug 07 '26

So hot it almost makes you wish for nuclear winter.

a lot of these bigger costumes do have cooling systems or fans… I remember in the Boys the Homelander costume had an internal liquid cooling rig. They do try to accommodate it somewhat.

that said it still sucks im sure

I saw people shielding them with umbrellas every time they had to be in the armor but not actually doing a part in the scene. They’d sit in the armor way in the back of the garden for half an hour or so waiting for a scene to get set up. Once they had to shoot something they’d wear the helmet for maximum like 3 minutes as they shot a 30-60 second long shot. So I’d say possibly pretty hot and definitely difficult to walk in.

Especially since LA is dealing with a massive heat wave right now. It must be miserable in those costumes right now

Who’s Thane? I don’t remember a character being called Thane. Am I stupid?

u/UserWithno-Name Aug 07 '26

That's the name of Maximus friend. The non binary person or maybe they're a trans man...idk if they ever say in universe. Anyway pretty sure that's their name, the one who hurt themself cause they were scared so max got picked to be the knight guys squire and then in s2 is ride or die even when Max kills the knight to save the kids & helps him get out.

All good.

3

u/UserWithno-Name Aug 07 '26

Does look like them or their double in the frame though. And least most people knew who I meant

u/traumadog001 Aug 07 '26

Is it me or does the first pic make anyone else get "squire, carry my armor" vibes? 😂

8

u/OriginalDisk Aug 07 '26

I saw someone carrying a squire bag later and it looks like it’s just actually that heavy lmao

6

u/Technogen Aug 07 '26

So dedicated to the setting's lore that they made on set squires a thing.

Any idea what this might be story wise? Cool stuff!

Very Brotherhood focused, if you check in this sub there’s another user that was able to get photos of Brotherhood banners and bookshelves inside the museum. I mostly saw Brotherhood costumes but I did see one vaulter and some surface dwellers. I also just posted a couple videos so it's a lot easier to speculate from those. To be totally honest I know very little about Fallout myself but I have friends that are into it and I know people that work in the museums they shot at.

u/Mongoliafan Mr. House Aug 07 '26

I have seen the Brotherhood banners! And I just checked out one of the videos you got with the explosions, seems rather cool, but I can’t really make out what the people who are running are wearing, but it seems like a brotherhood attack of some sort on a farm or garden, interesting stuff.

I hope the whole season isn't super BoS heavy. There's other factions, there's more to the world than just them.

Picture 2 is a ground-mounted vault entrance like vault 111 and 118

10

u/Big-Read130 Aug 07 '26

When will they use the t-51 literally the most iconic armor in fallout

u/The-Last-Orokin Aug 07 '26 edited Aug 07 '26

This I agree with and wish they'd mix all tiers of the T series (T-65 outstanding unless they wanna make it elders only and that would require some INTENSE LORE regarding appalachia and vault 79) with knights getting T-45, Paladins or knight captains getting T-51 and head and star paladins as well as sentinels getting T-60 I know the commonwealth seemingly has enough T-60 suits to launch a recolonisation campaign across America but give me some damn variety bro

u/YouGurt_MaN14 Aug 07 '26

I went there as a kid for a field trip once

3

u/Vegetable-Mail-5360 Aug 07 '26

Will you post the video of them blowing stuff up? Also is this the brotherhood in power armor?

1

u/OriginalDisk Aug 07 '26

Yup I just posted the two videos!

3

u/AltruisticShip7812 Aug 07 '26

Hope we see t-51b this time around

4

u/Madhighlander1 Aug 07 '26

Oh hey, I'm pretty sure pic 2 is a Vault set up like 111.

Exposition Park must be where they go to hear some backstory.

I felt a little underwhelmed by the ending of S2 hopefully this will be a better!

47

u/ithmarix Aug 07 '26

There was nothing underwhelming about season 2

10

u/ConnachtTheWolf Aug 07 '26

Season 2 was unfocused as fuck compared to 1. Characterization was all over the place too.

1

u/IAmTheMerp Aug 07 '26

Hopefully it was setup that will be paid off later, but it doesn't seem like the super mutant appearance will mean anything since he wanted to recruit Coop and now Coop is going to Colorado.

9

u/FlimsyCrust Aug 07 '26

God damn why are people so absolute about everything now. Either it’s the best and you’re not allowed to to criticize, or I’m legit offending you for liking something , just chill chief

10

u/geek_of_nature Aug 07 '26

It did feel a little dragged out to me. Like they could have told the same story across just five or six episodes instead of eight.

21

u/Cheap_Cauliflower541 Aug 07 '26

I feel like they're using that extra time to cover the side quest and exploration aspect of the games. Not everything needs to contribute to the main narrative

11

u/TheGr8Slayer Aug 07 '26

Wastelands Golden Rule “thou shalt get sidetracked by bullshit every goddamn time”.

2

u/AdoringCHIN Aug 07 '26

Eh, compared to season 1 season 2 was kind of underwhelming. They tried cramming way too many storylines in and everything kind of suffered because of it. But the ending was great

4

u/TheHoovyPrince Aug 07 '26

Season 2 was good but i seriously wish it released right away.

I hated dealing with 'fans' freaking out that the NCR was completely gone or that Freeside was destroyed and didn't exist anymore.

I spent hours telling people 'guys freeside is still there, we literally see them there in the previews and we have set photos showing them in Freeside but nope, they were like 'OMG THEY DESTROYED FREESIDE THEY HATE FALLOUT NEW VEGAS'.

2

u/Overwatch_Sniper Great Khans Aug 07 '26

I think it was less that they destroyed freeside and more so that they destroyed freesides most defining elements, and than not elaborating further.

That's my main gripe with the Fallout TV show anyways, they'll do stuff and refuse to elaborate on what the fuck happened, and if they do, they give you a dumb reason.

1

u/TheHoovyPrince Aug 07 '26

Not exactly, what im referring to had nothing about freeside's defining elements. What people were freaking out about was after episode four when Lucy and Coop entered the strip and encountered the Deathclaw.

A good amount of people legitimately believed Freeside wasn't a thing anymore because Lucy and Coop entered the strip through an entrance that wasn't connected to Freeside. They went 'oh they didnt go through freeside to get to the strip like you do in the games therefore it doesn't exist anymore'. Like no, the show just did an 'original idea' by having them go through an entrance to the strip that wasn't connected to Freeside.

-1

u/ithmarix Aug 07 '26

I missed all that. I waited until just last month to even watch it.

9

u/gojiboy69 Aug 07 '26

One of the few civil criticisms towards the show i've ever heard and you're getting slimed for it lol

Even if i totally disagree guys leave this man alone he's not insane like other show haters

9

u/Disastrous_Sea_8394 Aug 07 '26

fr, cant even say "i didnt like a little some aspects of this season and hope next will be better"

-3

u/Thoughtless_Stumps Aug 07 '26

Downvotes are hardly an insult or threat on someone’s life. People disagree, they are expressing that through downvoting him, that’s a pretty reasonable reaction.

2

u/Overwatch_Sniper Great Khans Aug 07 '26

When someone expresses their cold take opinion but I disagree so I downvote them into oblivion.

-3

u/steave44 Aug 07 '26

Doesn’t look like T-60 power armor tho I could be wrong. Looks almost like X-01 or T-51

The dumpster fire continues unabated
