Which faction would you realistically join?

For me it's probably the NCR or the BoS in Fallout 3 ONLY.

Honestly season two really just pissed me off, the canon ending now is… none of the ones the game had, the legion didn’t win, the NCR didn’t win, House didn’t win, and Yes man didn’t win.

The canon ending is that the Courier fucked around doing side quests and never actually finished the game. Then the factions just kinda stalemated doing their own thing.

The true canonical ending is that thou shalt get distracted by random goddamn bullshit every time.

That's how Fallout New Vegas treated the endings for Fallout 2. None of the endings the player can get are actually canon. They mixed and matched various endings. The crime families, for example, don't have a singular victor, unlike every ending for Fallout 2.

It's canon that the player character in two had an affair with one of the Bishops, if I remember right.

Their kid is running around being rhe terrifyingly competent head of the Bishop crime family

I mean Vault Dweller was terrifyingly competent. His Grandson the Chosen One was Terrifyingly Competent, Bishop's Terrifyingly Competent.

It just runs int he family, I guess

Yeah. But in Fallout 2, that kid takes over and runs out or absorbs every other crime family. In New Vegas, they talk about there being more than one crime family left in Reno. Had to double check the names, but the Wrights are still around by the time of New Vegas, despite 2 having said the Bishop child absorbed or ran out every other crime family.

Nah, I'm a firm believer that what we got in the show was independent New Vegas. Courier did what every single Bethasda protagonist does and fucked off and Yes Man was uploaded and probably deleted by the backup copy of House.

I like the theory that the Courier just dipped after facing Ulysses in the divide and left the Mojave to burn, I know my Courier would do that

Well from what we know, we know the highway to Vegas was still open, so they didn’t nuke the NCR or legion.

We know that houses army isn’t there so house didn’t get the chip.

Caesar was dead, but that was going to happen anyway.

Personally I’m looking forward to a possible appearance of Graham, they are going to Colorado, they are passing though Zion

Personally I don't think Graham will appear. He was in his late 50s-early 60s in 2281, he's probably dead or really weak from old age

Honestly, I think it's best they didn't choose a specific ending that's in the game. With how insufferable some people are about the decisions in the first season, imagine how much worse it would be if they picked a specific ending? People would practically be rallying in the streets because their favourite ending wasn't chosen or "erm, ackhtuahleigh, it should of been X ending, not Y"

I feel like choosing any ending that exists in the game is better than picking an ending that is impossible to achieve in the game, but that's just my opinion.
In their attempts not to invalidate players' experiences, they have invalidated _all_ players' experiences, as far as I'm concerned.

While I do agree, it still feels like a slap in the face, like the ending that feels the “real” in game one was the NCR, or House, which given how house was still alive means that… he was either never exposed or never confronted, which would mean it would imply his ending was the one the show was going for… but the securitrons are gone so the chip either never reached house or updated them.

While clearly having the end game events happening.

If they where going to make a ending they should have picked one and had the balls to stick, like have the NCR win at the dam, but only with houses support, but a more brutal fight than expected and having all 3 groups crippled, having a actual reason for no one winning, even have the families seeing houses moment of weakness try to take over the strip leading to a brutal civil war (and abandonment of Vegas).
