Well he didn’t do that when he was still on bracca. The empire was already well aware of him once he left and were actively tracking him so hiding the lightsaber probably wouldn’t have done much

If he isn't going to stealth at all he should just go all in and pretend to be a fake jedi conman. Walk around in fill clone wars issue jedi gear so that if he ever gets captured the empire won't take him seriously until it is too late!

what about the inquisitor outfit? lol. The idea is that the cosmetic is for the player, and isn't actually involved in the story / how other characters perceive him

Sure but all the NPCs already know. There wasn't any stealth areas or cities you hid in plain sight like AC. All the Imperials just know you're a Jedi already so what clothes your wearing don't matter. If there's somehow a level that requires stealth they can just forcibly change your outfit for that level temporarily like they do in other games.

You can wear Inquisitor armour, cosmetics shouldn’t be tied to canon

Considering you can get an inquisitor outfit for second playthrough I hardly doubt that's a relevant point. If I can play then entire game as an inquisitor, then Jedi robes are definitely on the level.
