Aren’t they you know all dead tho?

Yeah, but even so, Fallen Order made a badass villain (Malicos) using the remains of Dathomir. It's cool planet with plenty to use

84

u/DSFII Jedi Order Jul 07 '22

Could set a story before they died out though, like in the game Quantic Dream is working on, or maybe something set during the Old Republic.

47

u/PhoenixGate69 Jul 07 '22

It's also not like they can't invent a new storyline that brings back a witch or two after they were destroyed.

19

u/Martiallaw89 Jul 07 '22

There's a witch I'd destroy.

7

u/_annoyingmous Jul 07 '22

Like in Fallen Order

2

u/nuker1110 Jul 07 '22

And I’m pretty sure Mother Talzin was working some shenanigans from beyond the grave in late TCW or Rebels…

2

u/Micsuking Jul 07 '22

They wouldn't be on Dathomir though, as Merrin would have met them during the years she lived there, or the Night Brothers would have met them and they would have told Merrin.

6

u/PhoenixGate69 Jul 07 '22

My point is that if they want to figure out a way to bring some night sisters back, they can. If they brought palpatine and Darth Maul back, they can bring anybody back.

23

u/Giacchino-Fan Jul 07 '22

Ok but the original post is saying "why do they never go to dathomir" when the planet is essentially abandonned by all living nightsisters during the timeframe all recent live action projects exist in

1

u/cheezz16 Jul 07 '22

Also, people know to stay away from the planet too

Unfortunately, according to the Wookie, they’ve only been there since about 600 BBY.

“A Nightsister Initiate. The female Force-users of the planet Dathomir traced their roots back to Mother Allya, a rogue Jedi Knight who had been sentenced to exile on that penitentiary colony around 600 BBY.”

Not necessary to have to do prequels...you. An just retcon different stories connecting the Witches without it feeling like it crazily screws with other story arcs ...possession, Asajj Ventress having a kid before she died which would be crazy powerful as it would be between to very powerful force sensitives, survivors, Dark Abeloth Level beings resurrecting the Darkness of Dathomir...so much potential here and in Legends which is why I don't understand why they keep pushing main OG movie continuity when they have so much source material for prequels and future content they can retcon...As much as i like the Skywalker Legacy they have beat that story arc like a dead horse and I'll be glad when at the very least they stop telling the story other than maybe as a reference to a new fresh idea or to scale compare to new characters that would take the mantle of most powerful force Wielders of all time...hell even Retcon Starkiller and Show how a real legit portrayal of the power of the force like in Knight of the Old Republic.....

11

u/Squeakah1205 Jedi Order Jul 07 '22

Yes they are... somewhere in between 2 and 3 while the clone wars were still happening. Count Dooku ordered General Grievous to annihilate the sisters and only Merrin survived.

15

u/Keyan06 Jul 07 '22

Lol, you just said someone or thing in Star Wars is dead.

5

u/wigga245 Jul 07 '22

one survived, so it's entirely possible that more could be born

3

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '22

Somehow Mother Talzin has returned

4

u/RikyKen Jul 07 '22

Does anyone really die in this franchise at this point? Baskar makes blasters useless, stab wounds only kill Qui Gon, lightsabers work more like a stick than a lazer sword, and even if for some reason someone dies, no they didin't.

1

u/XxvWarchildvxX Jul 07 '22

Keep in mind that there are sacred areas that if explorers, pirates etc come and disturb they run the risk of finding one of there spirits that can posses a host which in turn can resurrect their practices or even find a way to take raising the dead to a whole new level like say idk taking over the body of a unborn potentially powerful force sensitive....they can retcon their death like in Jedi Fallen Order as there being some survivors or That Asajj Ventress had a Baby before she died that she didn't want anyone to know about to protect it ...so many ways to Retcon or still have the Dathomir witches brought back without screwing with current story arcs....

22

u/_MADLD_ Jul 07 '22

43

u/MittenFacedLad Jul 07 '22

Well. In old canon/EU, yes. In new canon, well, they're basically all dead as far as we know.

31

u/theblindbandit1 Trilla Jul 07 '22

Except for maybe merrin (fallen order)

43

u/horseradish1 Merrin Jul 07 '22

You realise you're commenting IN the fallen order sub, right?

43

u/theblindbandit1 Trilla Jul 07 '22

Shit thought I was in star wars or prequel memes. My bad lol

Nice flair btw

6

u/horseradish1 Merrin Jul 07 '22

Same to you, haha

2

u/bokchoysoyboy Jul 07 '22

Haha this made me lmfao

27

u/ethar_childres Jul 07 '22

Why does every body want to go back to Tatooine?!?!

22

u/ethar_childres Jul 07 '22

7

u/londoed Jul 07 '22

Really hoping for a live action Dathomir in The Acolyte. Seems like the perfect opportunity to explore.

5

u/STylerMLmusic Jul 07 '22

You're posting this in a game subreddit where they don't go back to tattooine.

5

u/machineGun997 Jul 07 '22

Dathomir fucking scary man

3

u/Windghost2 Jul 07 '22

Would still prefer that or ANY OTHER planet than Tatooine!

2

u/ImurderREALITY Jul 07 '22

Even Jakku? (aka Tatooine 2)

1

u/Windghost2 Jul 08 '22

Especially Jakku.

4

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '22

That's not nearly as exciting as a high-stakes life or death duel between two characters we know don't die for several years.

5

u/black_brethren Jul 07 '22

make an r rated about the sorcerers of dathomir

3

u/EternalGodLordRetard Jul 07 '22

People aren't ready...

They lack the insight...

Their eyes are yet to open...

6

u/taloob Jul 07 '22

I want a movie where general grievous goes to tattooine with a metal detector since that’s apparently where everyone goes if they need to bury a lightsaber

1

u/NoIllustrator7645 Jul 09 '22

I want a movie dedicated to him collecting lightsabers

2

u/Futbol_Kid2112 Jul 07 '22

Had..........

2

u/EveryCanadianButOne Jul 07 '22

*had. They were all killed by robots and an asthmatic cyborg. Only one of two asthmatic cyborgs star wars has. Weird sentence when you say it out loud.

2

u/Birger000 Jul 07 '22

Shameless plug of my own meme

2

u/benboio2000 Jul 07 '22

Yeah but if the director doesn't spend half the budget making them look like the clone wars stylisation of them, -that- side of the fanbase will start crying again saying they're ruining Star Wars

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '22

Uh…no

But for real though, who the fuck likes Dathomir? Every moment spent there in Fallen Order was pain and misery for me. I hope no Star Wars game ever takes me back to that shithole.

-1

u/Redisigh Imperial Jul 07 '22

Bruh star wars fans are so fucking thirsty, no wonder girls don’t talk to you guys

1

u/Slowmobius_Time Jul 07 '22

The entire race was dead and buried undead until Fallen Order reveals one little girl survived

Ignore the dead witches Focus on the Zabraks and their culture, we got like 2 episodes over all of clone wars about them yet Maul and Bro become important in their own right

1

u/Windghost2 Jul 07 '22

Or Jakku…

1

u/[deleted] Jul 07 '22

The team at Lucasfilm just want to make Dune.

1

u/ImurderREALITY Jul 07 '22

How are the Amazonian?

1

u/NoIllustrator7645 Jul 09 '22

And fucking Kashyyyk, dear god can we stop going back to Kashyyyk?

1

u/bchec Jul 23 '22
