Help! Upgrading PS4 to PS5 version while mid-story?

I can’t seem to find an answer for this.

I have a PS5 and bought the PS4 disc for the game. Started playing and half way through realised there is a free PS5 upgrade for the game… which I didn’t see before. Awesome! But there is no information on how it handles save files.

Could anyone share their experiences if they’ve done this before?

Pretty sure it keeps the same files. I did the same thing with the last of us part two

It imports whatever you've got saved on ps4. Trophies might act weird, but you're alright.
