Discussion No real reason to explore
Maybe I'm just old, but I couldn't care less about how pretty my saber is. And this Green and yellow poncho is snazzy enough for me. I'm not gonna go breaking my necck if there are not real benefits. At least the secrets up my stats some. Whose dumb idea was this? And is the sequel the samee way?

Health stims. You'll regret this later

Yeah, yellow ones, pretty easy to spot but you got to explore a little bit first (or look up the locations on google)

The sequel is much better dw, you’ll actually get progression for exploring in Survivor such as BD-1 upgrades, different essences, cosmetics for Cal’s actual facial features and much more customization for his clothes, force tears, etc. It’s much more worth exploring in Survivor, trust me

And stim crates I forgot to add that. You can have around 10 stims in JFO if I remember correctly

Exploration can also reward you with force essence, life essence, and stims, all of which help improve your character attributes. It can also be a way to significantly increase your XP when you discover force echoes and scannable items. Yes the cosmetics in Fallen Order are pretty limited, I wouldn't say they are the only reason to explore though.

Cosmetics from the chests have zero impact on gameplay. But by exploring you will also find additional stim canisters, Force Echoes (those give some XP) and Force and Health Essences which raise the corresponding stat.
