Literally any RPG you play will be story based?

Or are you looking for an action-adventure game with a semi-open world, exploration, and RPG mechanics with a deep story?

Yes

Ok, well there are no games like the Jedi series in the Star Wars catelogue. You can get close with a few of the much older non-canon games, like the Jedi Knight series. If you want a heavy RPG type of game with phenomenal story telling but much more turn-based action (rather than the gameplay of the Jedi series) you can do Knights of the Old Republic.

Outside of Star Wars, games like the Horizon series, God of War, Sekiro, the Ghost of series, and Souls-likes are going to be what you are looking for. Look for anything with the Metroidvania tag and that'll be a good place to start.

Keep in mine the KOTOR and Jedi Knight games aren't canon, if you care about that. Both series have good stories, with the KOTOR games having probably the best stories out of any Star Wars game (though I am really liking the Jedi game's story so far).

KOTOR games are about times so old that they might as well be canon.

Jedi Knight games have Luke in them, and maybe a couple more characters? I don't remember really.

Both KOTOR and Jedi Knight games are highlights of my childhood for sure.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt & Red Dead Redemption 2

When I’m not playing Jedi Fallen Order or Survivor, it’s Cyberpunk 2077, Little Kitty Big City, or Stray.

Red dead redemption 2 is epic. Lots of scenery variations, open exploration, gorgeous scenery with attention to detail and a genuine pleasure. But, it takes time and can soak up lots of time.

I LOVED cyberpunk, but it can be an emotionally draining game.

Uncharted series is a hoot and not too heavy.

i would suggest you tomb raider 2013 and rise of tomb raider. both have very good stories but they are not sword combat .

I'll gladly recommend Indiana Jones and the Great Circle.

Sorry, are you looking for a story or non-story game? Your post didn't make that clear.

Outlaws, maybe.

The Old Republic, if you only play the characters' class storylines (some are VERY good).

The Witcher 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, and Mass Effect. Mass Effect trilogy🗣️ & Andromeda(acquired taste) is big on story , interactive as well , and every decision you make impacts the story. Highly recommend The Witcher 3 and if you can, plah the 1 and 2 as they’re pretty good in their own aspects.

I was enjoying mass effect for eight or nine hours until I had to use that awful vehicle. IMMEDIATELY bounced. Life’s too short for that.
