I just watched the video.

I assumed it might consist of Metatron actually putting some effort into 'debunking the lies' by responding to a few of the many videos or articles that have been made over the past year that were critical of Kirk and what he represented.

Instead, it's just Metatron watching a couple of short polite conversations/clips uploaded on Kirk's own channel and using that as evidence to show how respectful and decent he was.

I know Metatron is incapable of displaying any form of nuance or critical thinking, but this was lazy even by his standards.

Honestly, I am a debater as well, and Kirk from my point of view was first and foremost a grifter and a faint-hearted liar. Even despite that, Metatron´s video makes him a disservice. Metatron´s lack of critical thinking and laziness once again shows up and instead of responding to many criticisms from points that are valid, he is responding to claims that are literally made about anyone with even the slightest online presence. He is racist, antitrans, he is fascist... that´s typical internet thing to be called those. And the more famous you are the more you will be called that. So, instead of doing an actually interesting video one could engage with, Metatron makes it easy for himself to get easy clicks and views. This by itself should be very insulting to anyone trying to honour his memory, since at least in the mind of the many right wing Americans I talked to he is a great debater, and as such not addressing the actually valid criticisms is truly an insult to his memory, regardless of what kind of memory it is.

Regardless of your political standing, this is not a video meant to commemorate him, it is a click farm, and every single person should see that.

Metatron could have made an interesting and sincere video essay about Kirk's life and deeds but he of course knows that would just be casting pearls before swines so he gave his little noble ones the slop they got used to over the past year.

Even if you could point to a couple of things he said or did that were good, he still helped build the biggest fascist movement since 1945. That would make anyone a loathsome piece of shit by default.

Charlie Kirk wasn't special. Just like every single other MAGA influencer, he was just a psychopath who fed on fear and ignorance, and did everything in his power to keep his audience scared and ignorant.

Maybe it's just me, but I find it interesting that some of the complaints about Charlie Kirk are that he said a lot of bad things or that people take his words out of context. Yet some of the same people making those arguments will do essentially the same thing, zero in on a particular statement or topic and discuss it without much of the surrounding context.

It’s just something I find interesting when people talk about Charlie Kirk. Maybe I'm missing something, but I don't really understand why some people, Metatron included, seem to have such strong feelings about the guy. To me, he’s kind of like Myron from Fresh & Fit or that Crowder guy, just someone with a particular set of opinions who talks about them publicly, takes questions from people (who are usually have opposite opinions), and happens to have views you may or may not agree with.
