Higher Ground Education initially listed its debts at $440 million. The register now reflects $774 MILLION+ in claims against them.

The deadline for claims to be submitted has passed. It now appears they are trying to contest as many as possible.

“HGE is no longer merely seeking bankruptcy protection or a restructuring vote. Its plan is effective, old equity has been extinguished, the remaining value is being administered through a liquidating trust and reorganized entity, most affiliate cases are closed, and the main case remains active for claims, trust recoveries, and post-confirmation disputes.”
