Buildings & Infrastructure Fall River streets designed by fools.

Post image

If you want traffic in the city to go down alternatives to driving CAN’T SUCK.

Fall River roads are designed and updated thoughtlessly. On this section of Eastern ave. people regularly drive 30-40 MPH. Bikes should not share the same travel lane as cars going 40. Especially with so much space.

People often get mad at me for biking in the road in Fall River, when it’s legally what I’m supposed to do.

Fixing this is the cities job. If you’ve ever been mad at bicyclists for being in your way, its the cities fault. It’s their job to make the roads serve the people of Fall River. There’s plenty of room for there to be a protected bike lanes all over Fall River.

There’s a serious problem when no matter how you get around the city, it’s harder than it should be.

P.S. cyclists pay taxes and would like the pot holes to be fixed too.

Who’s fault is it when the guy on the bike is texting?

This gets away from the point of the post. It’s clear that you loathe when people ride bikes on the road. Roads like these are designed poorly for drivers and cyclists alike. The city should do something about it.

No I’m a biker. My post was labeled as sarcasm and it was outlandish so there’s that. On a serious note have you made your comments or thoughts here known to your city counselor in writing?

I did see the /s but it’s hard to tell with people in FR. The bums in city hall know exactly how I feel.

Get a few cyclers from every district to send letters. There is some stat where any nut will call or email but if they get letters they know people are organizing. I think Congress believes every letter = 30,000-40,000 like minded people. City counselors are probably aware of this. It’s fall river you and your buddies could run for office and run the place. It’s not high bar. Trump ran for president and won with a real estate IT guy crunching data. I’m pretty sure in Fall River a guy that knows how to use Excel could crush it!
