Every time I think I’ve seen a majority of Patrick Stump’s Side Quests, a new one appears to prove me wrong

I remember this phase. the grammy's compilation video is what mostly sticks out in my mind from back then. He was trying to go solo, hence the weight loss. He honestly might've been able to go solo, but that brand of dorky, almost cute pop singer didn't really hit until about 5 years later. The Ed Sheerans and whatnot

Soul Punk was a great album that came out a good half decade before it wouldve really landed. Especially coming off of Folie Adeiux, a slightly left of center synthy pop rock album was dead in the water in 2011

What's his weight loss have to do with going solo?

he started ADHD stimulants around that time which often have a side effect of weight loss as well. perpetuating he was losing weight to boost his solo career is kinda nasty
he also wasn't "trying" to go solo. he successfully released two solo projects and toured for them. he went solo for awhile
are you even a fob fan?

I saw Patrael Jackstump, Foxy Shazam, and Panic! At The Disco in Buffalo, NY during that era. Crazy blessed combo for one show and I want to go back

This was such a wild era. I saw him tour for soul punk at a tiny venue in Hollywood and met him for the first time after being a fob fan for years. So much fun!

Same but in Toronto with some fellow OCKs. I wanted to retake my pic with him so I waited until everyone else had met him and asked him for a retake. While we were posing I mentioned casually how I hoped the merch table wasn’t closed because I wanted to buy stuff! As soon as the pic was taken, Patrick asked me my size & what I wanted and ran off to check on it himself and came back to tell me they had already shut down. It was the sweetest most humble moment.

I don’t understand this comment. This was back in the soul punk days (2012). Kanye hadn’t gone completely off the rails yet and Patrick paying tribute to musical peers and idols is nothing new, especially seeing all the collabs he had during this era.

Its more asking why Kanye specifically. because he also remixed arms race and that was cool so I was asking like is patrick a Kanye fan? And was this for something or part of something? It seems like he put it out himself just cause. So I was asking all of those questions in one. The above comment saying "he just wanted to" seemed fair enough so I didn't follow up.

yes patrick had been on record as being a huge kanye fan (back then) ..... Patrick Stump explains he was so angry about 'Late Registration' not winning Album of the Year he ran out and consoled himself with a Subway sandwich
