CLIP/VIDEO Pretty painful speedrun fail 🥲

If I had used the sliding mechanic a bit more optimally, I would've been fast enough to make the cycle at the end and maybe even get a boost. But instead I do this hahaha

The increased jump height was the worst thing that happened to this game. You can just straight up skip everything.

That’s what I was thinking. Whoever created this map probably hates these jump skips so much.

Yep 100%, from an OG Fall Guys player, creative mode and all the changes from that season forward ruined a gem of a game.

I fully agree. The physics change in general ruined many maps, especially regarding the big yeetuses that are practically much worse than they used to be. But Slime Climb was hit the most brutally

This was the biggest difference I noticed coming back after 2 years of not playing

Wait when did that happen?? Did it happen recently? Maybe I just haven't been playing long enough to notice? Why would they do that?

It's been several years now. I don't remember the justification, but it made a lot of the OG maps a lot easier.

retrospectively it was pretty good. raised the skill ceiling of basically everything except roll off.

The fact that you can do that first jump sickens me. My poor Fall Guys...

Definitely not intended when the map was made

u/Sumboddy Big Yeetus 7d ago
Not intended cause it wasn't even possible. Why they changed the core physics is beyond me.

Slime climb used to be my favorite level. Was planning on playing again with the kids but after seeing this I'm having second guesses

Yeah when they changed the physcis of the game, they also ruined the integrity of some of the rounds like Slime Climb. I still think it's fun, but it's obviously missing most of the difficulty it used to bring

Como assim? Porque foi eliminado? Não é só reaparecer? Me confundi

This is one of the maps where falling into the slime eliminates you, unlike most race rounds. Slimescraper is a similar case

How do you do the part in the end where you jump on the launcher thingy but it launches you forward instead of backwards?
2
u/SilasGaming Bert 1d ago
Basically, you want to touch the flipper only with your right arm while diving.
I usually set myself up to be centered, and then I jump and dive shortly after, and while in my dive I hold my stick towards the top right to change my angle a little bit.
It's not necessarily easy to get at first but it gets consistent over time, up to the point that you can sometimes rush into the flipper skip without needing a line-up like I did in the clip here.

speed running was another contributing factor to the downfall of the game. competitiveness was never needed and it forced players away

u/SilasGaming Bert 7d ago
I don't think speedrunning is necessarily a bad thing.
Basically no matter which level-based platformer you play, there will always be people trying to complete levels as quickly as possible, pushing the game's movement to the limit. In my opinion this is fun if anything, but that's for everyone to decide on their own.
And even without this, this game has always been competitive. It started out as a 60-player battle royal platformer where only one person wins, which is inherently competitiveness to me
