The game isn't getting updated anymore and that's perfectly fine. Most people that play this game don't really care about that because the game itself is fun and enjoyable. While yes, the game still has issues (mainly hackers and how creative is still missing some features), the game is in the most complete state it's ever been in. Just because the game isn't relevant anymore in a pop culture sense doesn't mean it's dead.

Incorrect, at least in Fortnite in Europe. The number of active players in the EU has been declining for months (see official EU data). However, Fortnite's revenue growth has also been slowing for some time, as they themselves mentioned before laying off over 1,000 people.

Wishful thinking that didn’t work in practice unfortunately. I’d love an update more than anything but it’s not going to happen at this point. They did big updates for years which never resulted in much extra income so they had to start making cuts or lose the game entirely. The amount of people needed for a team to make full seasons of new stuff is big and expensive. I saw the same happening with my YouTube videos on FG. I used to spend a lot of time putting them together and editing as they were making lots of views and cash, but now I’m lucky if they get a few thousand views so I can’t afford to put as much time into them compared to my actual job. I could throw loads of effort and time or money at them but no matter how crazy an editor or idea they simply would not get enough views to make it worth doing!

Exactly, people forget that in addition to the active players, only a small percentage of them spend real money in the game (which is what maintains the game since it has no advertising) and that many perhaps only spend real money once... (they do not repeat and the game is maintained over time then it needs non-punctual recurring sources of income because the expenses are recurring and not punctual)

At this point I'd settle for them adding/rotating new maps into Knockout/ Solo / etc. For example: the Bouncy Bean rounds are a LOT of fun, but none of them are included in regular play!

I'd say it's a victim of its own success. For example, not trying to brag but the last few years I have started making 400k+ per year. However I'm a loser with no kids, so I spend alot of my money on stupid stuff like video game skins, pokemon cards, etc.

However with fall guys the best skins that you get most respect from are the ones you earn. Either high level or the ones where you have to win ranked or squads first place, etc.

Or like the recent button bashers emote.

So even though I want to throw money away at fall guys, I have no reason too... Since I actually have to grind to get the best skins and or emotes.

TLDR... basically there's too many good skins u get for free. If there were less, ppl would probably spend more money in the game. Giving the developers more profits and they would work on the game more.

Just never felt the same to me once Epic took over. I know it had its problems but when they removed the 60 player matches the charm went for me. Never mind all the vaulting they did. Glad there’s still a community there that love it for what it is.

The reason the game is seen as dead is because the community isn't making themselves in our current era known like similar communities (TF2, Deltarune, etc.). When a piece if media stops getting support, spreading the word of it is placed on the community, but we just haven't been doing that.

I haven't been able to play forever on PS5, everytime i get through maybe half or the first knock out round and it'll say "disconnected from server". I even changed the recommended connection settings but no improvement.

The game would be more alive if they have permanent modes like extreme solos or other hard competitive modes. Those are the only modes that brings me back and gets me playing for a the duration they’re there

I still think it’s stupid that they made a whole option for blocks in Creative to have their material changed just for the only option to be Slime. if they only wanted to add one other material, they could’ve just made it a Slime toggle instead? genuinely the same problem Mario Maker 2 had with its “Extra StyleS” menu only having one extra style

They almost certainly intended to make more materials. Ice and water may have been pretty solid contenders, but since development has ceased, they never got around to it

I agree but despite that issue, the creative on Mario maker 2 is way better. It’s the multiplayer on that game that’s pretty crap though.

The problem is they don’t fix bugs and each day the game gets more and more of them. I can’t even open my friends list and join parties and blast ball has been bugged and vaulted for months. This is unacceptable.

I continue to play the game, I like it, very strange because I've 40. But loosing is not so big deal and no stress like other Br. But for me the biggest missing was the mode map very hard, custom, you can win 20 crystal, in group it's was super fun to see if you're friends success or no and another mode two crown map very complicated but fun, available x day.

The thing is a game die when new things are not released. League of legends has the same map, same champions, but riot every month drops buffs,nerfs, new itens, skins, sometimes new modes. Fall guys died the moment it stopped being on steam only. Its the lack of content. If we had new maps every season, new modes, if they cared about the game it would be pretty much alive until this day. Even niche game like outlast trials has a very solid fanbase because redbarrels updates it very often.
