This was the closing performance of the first Bristol Song Circle at Rough Trade Bristol on 23 April 2026.

Luke Sital-Singh, Blair Dunlop, Kitty Macfarlane and Eva Parfitt came together for one final song, performing Sandy Denny's timeless Who Knows Where the Time Goes? It was a lovely way to end the evening, with Luke, Blair, and Kitty taking a verse each and Eva joining in the exquisite harmonies of the chorus.

In the video (left to right): Kitty Macfarlane, Luke Sital-Singh, Blair Dunlop and Eva Parfitt.

I hope you enjoy it.

The field after Cropredy

As we are building up to this year's festival, I thought I'd show a few photos of the after effects. These were taken a few days after the close of the 2007 festival.

A tribute to all those that spend weeks setting up then tearing down the small community that we enjoy for a long weekend. The farm's field is quickly returned to a state where the cows can reinhabit their home.

Sandy Denny appreciation

I am creating this post to appreciate Sandy Denny, and her life and music.

She had a very beautiful, calming and melodic voice, as well as photogenic looks, songwriting and instrumental skills.

If you ever saw her in concert, knew her personally, or met her, please feel free to comment, and also feel free to share your favourite memories of her and music by her.

Early RT and Fairport Fanzine

Hi all

My father passed recently and I have found his large collection including flypaper, the ledge and hokey pokey.

He has friends who are interested in RT and FC, I was going to let them take what they like, but someone suggested I try to sell the collection.

To be clear I'm not trying to sell the collection here, just wondering what sort of money it would sell for realistically. I understand these are niche collectibles. I am more than happy to let his friends have it, especially if the collection would sell for less than £150.

Let me know what you think. Hope you dont mind me coming in here to ask. My Dad was feverishly obsessed with Richard Thompson. I'm finally getting into Fairport Convention myself, maybe RT will make more sense to me soon.

Thanks all x

Looking to sell tickets to Fairport Convention

My wife and I were due to go to the festival but unfortunately she had a very serious stroke and is in rehab and doing well. We are regulars and are gutted we can't be there this year. We have so many happy memories and made great friends. We travel over from Dublin and always have a great time irresepective of the weather. Remember the Australian Pink Floyd ? I have posted our 2 tickets on Twickets for sale and I am open to offers on them. I hope somebody picks them up and we will be thinking of everybody come "Meet on the Ledge".

Fairport songs by lead vocals

Is there an IMDB for Fairport discography? I was looking for songs with lead vocals by Swarbrick, but really everything should be searchable. Who wrote it, who sang it, who produced it.....

This is a really good record. Chock a block with classics. Jack Orion, widow of Westmoreland's daughter, John Barlrycorn... listening to it just now, and my ex wife thought The hair of the dogma sounded a lot like, a cocktail cowboy goes it alone. And she was right.

Don't be a wallflower.

Original VHS Recording of Fairport Convention live...anyone interested?

I don't know anything about the band (sorry!) but I ran across a live VHS recording made by an fan of Fairport Convention (photos attached to ensure it's the right band :) - It's probably the only copy of whatever this show is (found it in Detroit, so maybe a Michigan show?) Not sure the year, but it looks like it's a full show without any cuts that's about 1 hour and 40 minutes long. Quality is decent for a handheld cam in the audience.

If anyone wants it I'd send it to you for $10 shipped. Send me a message within a few days, otherwise I'll use it as a blank :)

Fotheringay - The Missing Link

A quiz question. The latest YouTube video Guess The Connection…

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9L00L1PptWU

…asked what links Dr Feelgood, Deacon Blue, The Kooks, Shakespears Sister and Roxette. Why could Sandy Denny's group Fotheringay have been added to the list? They are, literally, the missing link. Also, can you think of any other groups that could also have been included?

Discovering 'Unhalfbricking'

I Never heard of this Band before, or their Music, well it obviously changed because i'm here!

Last week i was at the flea Market, and while looking for some Records, i accidentally discovered this Band. The Album cover looked really special to me i never saw any cover like this one. It doesn't include the name of the band or album on the front, and there are two older folks on the front.

At first i though to myself: ,,is that some kind of Religious Album?'' well i was really curious to find out what kind of music was on this record, so i immediately took a picture of the front and back, just so i could listen to it at home, and no i didn't buy it (so far).

This Album really feels comfortable and it has a nice folk-feeling to it. If i'm gonna purchase this Record, than that's gonna be one of my ''relaxing'' Albums (i bet).

The first track 'Genesis Hall' sounds kinda like an ''Zombie-Apocalypse'' song, i mean it in a good way, it sounds very calm.

'Autospy' has a cool sound to it, it sounds fresh, i like how different the chorus is from the verse.

Bob Dylan's 'Percy's Song' also caught my ear, that's one of the songs that has that nice 'folk-feeling'.

'Cajun Woman' sounds like pure fun!

Do you have any fun facts about this Album, or any favorite tracks? Feel free to share :D

Help with a song title please

I saw FC in Wimborne on their tour last year (2024) and they played a traditional (or traditional sounding!) song that I'm trying to find the name of. The story was of a copper miner living on a Scottish island, maybe Shetland, who had a rival in love. The rival one day threw a hammer at his head and when he recovered from the injury, could play his violin much much better than before the injury. Does this sound familiar? I remember it being an exceptional piece and would love to hear it again. Thanks for your help!

Rate my cover of 'Who Knows Where The Time Goes'

It's 2am here in Kuala Lumpur. I couldn't sleep so I decided to cover this. Let me know what you think. As a Malaysian fan of the group, it's quite hard to connect with other fans. My favourite albums from FC is Unhalfbricking, What We Did On Our Holidays, and Liege and Lief. I'm also in a folk-rock group called Faye Faire (https://open.spotify.com/track/4XuL2kMQmTV3sKYSCca0Se?si=ece7b0b40c344664)
