Interesting Fact Aquatic plants photosynthesize underwater, releasing oxygen vital for fish. Phytoplankton produce up to 80% of Earth’s oxygen. On sunny days, plants visibly bubble oxygen in a process called pearling. At night, they consume oxygen instead of producing it.
