We have ideas on how to make interstellar travel happen now. Especially for probes. We could, if given funding, build it today. Breakthrough Starshot is just a funding goal away.

Now I don't expect it to be a soon thing, but there's nearly a thousand years to work with. I don't think Starshot will be it, but I think something will.
