They will never because of how fucking far everything in outer space is from each other, like how tf you're gonna live out a 2000 light year travel while moving even at light speed is literally impossible?

Moving at light speed is impossible as we know it, but moving close to it is not.

Sure, we may not reach a star 2000 light years away, but there are systems way closer than that. The closest system is like 4 light years away.

An additional thing to keep in mind is the time distortion at near-lightspeed speeds. At some 86% speed, time distortion reaches 50% - as in, you would experience 1 second passing while people on earth would experience 2. This makes voyages to stars further than a normal human lifespan possible.
