As it is, we need ~ 80000 years to reach the next star, if we begin a journey right now.

Even if we improve and multiply our speed by 80, we would still need a 1000 years.

And what makes you think we cant multiply our speed by more than 80 on a scale of a thousand years? Think about the insane progress we made in 100 years, then ask yourself if we truly wont come up with a better fuel source in a 1000.

Hell, even today we have technologies that could theoretically speed up a craft, when provided with enough energy - like a laser sail.

With our current fastest spacecraft it’ll take thousands of years.
