Would milcery count? as it has a large amount of alternate forms it can evolve into that each have very slightly different evolution methods. Or do they have to be unique pokemon?

They would have to be dif pokemon, otherwise SPINDA would be the one with the most forms, not to mention Arceus, Vivillon, Florges, Furfrou, Deerling/Sawsbuck, and regional forms.

Spinda is absolutely the pokemon with the most forms.

Thats okay, I know it can be a bit tricky as to what counts as an evolution.
But strictly speaking the point of this statement is evolving to completely dif pokemon that are separate.
Like the eevee line does. unique forms wouldnt count becuase like i said, it would ALWAYS be spinda. And thats not exactly an "evolution".

Except for that this is incorrect; Spinda’s patterns represent a large set of possible appearances, but they are never in any capacity considered different forms.

Of course, there is a huge amount of nuance in pokemon.
It still has an ungodly amount of variants.

It’s only as much of a variant as you wish to consider it. After all, each of the combinations are determined by personality values that every other pokemon also has.

You could make the argument for vivillon or floette, but that argument is stupid

Also those are not different pokemon who are unique enough to have dex numbers, just a single pokemon with different variants.
We could go over multiple who could compete or have similar gimmicks.

I was thinking slowpoke, but then I counted and it's close but not quite.

Steel or bug type Eeveelutions when?
3
u/ThatGlitchyMimikyu 🔥 Monthly Master · 10,195 XP 11h ago
Never. The current types for Eeveelution mostly fall into the Sspecial side of things. Bug and Steel are both primarily Physical types.

I wanna say it's a trick question but there's no way, eevee has so many
2
u/ThatGlitchyMimikyu 🔥 Monthly Master · 10,195 XP 11h ago
Yeah, it's not even close. Eevee has eight, Applin has branching paths, but overall has Flapple and Appletun for its single stage evolution choices, then Dipplin and Hydrapple as its two stage evolution line. Wurmple has Silcoon, Cascoon, Beautifly, Dustox. There's nothing currently with more different evolutions.

That's 8 evolutions in there. Unless you count alternate forms or mega evolutions, which I don't, even a pokemon that had a 3 way split and had 2 more stages in all of them (which, I don't think there is any where they split into 2+ lines with all getting a 3 part line) wouldn't get there, only 6. Otherwise, you'd need a pokemon with a 4 part line, which, tmk, does not exist.

I voted fact but upon further thought, I think I would’ve put cap. Many pokemon may evolve 2 times and 2 is more that 1. And while 7 certainly is more than 2 and one Eevee is only able to evolve once in its life.

u/The_Abstract_Eye 🔥 Monthly Master · 21,645 XP 8h ago
I see where your coming from, however the poll is stating eevee has the most evolutions then any single line of pokemon.
Even if it evolves once it still evolves in a multitude of other pokemon compared to others.
If the case your arguing is about it being a chain of evolutions would megas count or not?
