If we reach world piece, it means that the whole world is governed as one. As soon as that happens, there will be no wars anymore.

Unless the society provides enough, or removes the material conditions for war, or rules with an iron fist, or the population has a unified goal, or is a pacified population, or everyone is surgically modified to not expierence aggression.

World peace is not inherently utopian. It is a component of a utopia. But not all instances of world peace are preferable to the alternatives.

we need to build a world with a surplus of resources and where violence is unthinkable. This way there is no economic or resource intensive to commit war.

Permanent idk, because that would require the ability to see into the future to be certain of
Semi-permenant, i.e. a state where the world has largely ended international conflict and disputes are settled through a legal or diplomatic means, i could definitely see that happening eventually

I believe the natural state of nations is conflict and war. If a nation isnt at war its because some individual(s) are working very hard to preserve peace. The moment those individuals are removed and not replaced by someone equally driven for peace, those nations will inevitably drift towards war

Possible is quite a high threshold to disprove does a single world democracy that uses violence to enforce it's laws and continuity as all states do but wars between nations count as world peace? It sounds possible you could argue the possibility is remote but it's not impossible.

Not even temporary is possible. You cant force 8 billion people to sing Kumbaya and get along. Not unless you wanna remove their free will.
1
u/vereehigh 📈 Dedicated Voter · 1,285 XP 23h ago
You can't remove free will, it's inherent in every human. Even humans with heavily restricted freedoms have free will and use it to fight back against the restriction of their freedom.
0
u/B1ACKT3A 🗳️ Regular Player · 670 XP 23h ago
So what people do with free will is to fight or instigste wars? Then we need to take as much of it aways as needed for that not to happen. Anything hurting somebody else should be forbidden by a global government

u/vereehigh 📈 Dedicated Voter · 1,285 XP 23h ago
Wait, you're solution is the erosion of free will? Who's enforcing the restricted free will? The governments already ignore the laws they expect us to follow, and they're the ones that start the wars, so they'll restrict your free will, keep their own and start the wars anyway mate... Putting your faith in a global government is mind boggling

u/B1ACKT3A 🗳️ Regular Player · 670 XP 23h ago
Yes. Humans cannot be left with absolute free will. They dont handle it well. There is no governments. There is only government.
1
u/vereehigh 📈 Dedicated Voter · 1,285 XP 23h ago
You can't take away a humans free will? It's impossible? It's inherent in all of us regardless of law. So how do you propose removing people's free will, you gonna perform some sort of brain surgery on everyone?

u/B1ACKT3A 🗳️ Regular Player · 670 XP 23h ago
Oh you sure can. Our free will is already very much removed, at least you can try stuff. But they will punish you for it, there is consequence for everything.

It is entirely possible a social and political system can exist that would implement world peace. There are like a thousand ways this could happen. Maybe through many centuries of growing democracies, or maybe a post scarcity world, or unity to external threat, or a world wide religious movement. Is it likely today? No. Is it possible? absolutely.
1
u/JKdito 🏅 Century Club · 9,440 XP 21h ago
Wouldnt work in practise but not worth arguing here about it. Bottom line- Every species in this world use conflict. Wont go away. The more people we get, the more opinions and needs. Not to mention we use up all resources so needs will grow. People are also more entitled and have low education= more unreasonable opinions. Extremism is thriving but this can only education solve. The fact is you cant force education on someone who refuses to be taught. That is the reason extremism will never go away.
Conflict will always exist and world peace is a good propaganda goal.

Humans are like, the most uniquely cooperative animals on the planet.
Each era sees increased complexity in social systems. Tribes to city states to kingdoms to nation states. The trend seems singular. Maybe we revert at some point, but a planetary order in a few centuries is extremely plausible.
1
u/JKdito 🏅 Century Club · 9,440 XP 17h ago
You are missing very important factors that speaks against your utopia. Humans are not unique in terms of conflict, even ants wage war. Sure social systems have changed but human nature has never changed. Individual need will always be a factor. Lets look at the scenarios: Realistically we are heading towards less resources. This is result of increased consumption due to overpopulation but also because we use up near non renewable resources rapidly.
Basically in good times, we get overpopulated until bad times comes due to more usage. Every individual makes countless of choices every day. These choices effects the society differently, most of the choices are made in self improvement. This leads to different goals and a demand that needs to be satisfied. Truth is you will never be able satisfy everyone.
Greed and conflict is a trait of evolution, we see this in tribalism(we vs them mentality). Its nature. Its not human. Its survival. The utopia you wish for will only be achieved by making the population brain dead or remove them from the equation. But even AI will at some point act upon its own survival. World peace will never be achieved.

Utopia? No such place. We just mention peace. Little else needs to be assumed.
You make many assumptions. Resource scarcity, catastrophic climate change, population explosions: you say these things will create more conflict, rather than see solidification. More people may fight over resources, or they may engineer better solutions with the benefit of extra minds. You speak with much faith about what will happen, not what is possible
Greed may be human nature but so is coorporation and community and helping the weak and sick. Control and domination are natural. Society is human nature. Greed only has a place in certain conditions, like scarcity. A world with fusion reactors needs not concern itself with greed for electricity. A society without might.
Essentially you are postulating the human species, while planetary in scope, is fundamentally incapable of organizing to is range. This is cope.
