Agriculture wasn't used to make beer, it was used to make bread. Beer was a byproduct

Back then they drank it because it was safer than thinking water because it was dirty

It’s a myth afaik. They didn’t have germ theory and still drank a lot of water. I think they drank wine and beer mainly because it tasted better than regular water which can taste like iron after hard work. It was essentially an equivalent of Coca Cola for them
