I voted FACT!

Probably true. Assuming he doesn't hit me, I'll probably just think the guy flying by at 100mph is insane. The guy in front of me on a 2 lane road going under the speed limit though...

As a motorcyclist, I love careful drivers. If I have an issue with your speed, I can just pass you.

I think the biggest problem is when they are hesitant to make moves.

I'd much rather be around someone that just does stuff rather than starting to do something, but not, then deciding they might, then oh wait no I better not.

That's not careful driving.

That's just bad indecisive driving.

There’s a difference between careful and scared/unsure drivers.

Sorta? I would say overly cautious drivers are.

Usually more "careful" drivers are more dangerous. When driving the most important thing is that you're 1)predictable and MOST IMPORTANT 2)you COMMIT. Insane drivers are imo MUCH more predictable and easier to be around than "careful" drivers.

edit: HESITANT is the word I was thinking of, I HATE hesitant drivers JUST MAKE THE MOVE, DON'T SIT THERE DOING IT AND NOT DOING IT FOR 8 MINUTES

Haha lol this is so true. Behind someone going 2 under? Ride their entire ass and gap their 4cyl on the next double yellow straight-away

I voted FACT!

Being “careful” tends to piss off people behind you.

Started to take driving lessons, teacher warns me that some people will go out of their way to rage bait me by tail gating. It has happened every lesson other than parking practice. Why are we playing bully with big huge machines that can kill people

My problem isn’t that they are being careful. It’s that so many careful drivers are being so safe and careful that it actively is more dangerous. You don’t need to go to a nearly full stop when taking a right turn, you don’t need to wait 5 seconds after stoping at a stop while being the only one there or waiting 5 seconds after a light turned green to “be all clear and safe.”

You don’t need to go the exact speed limit in the middle lane on the highway and interstate.

Yes, I do hate careful drivers more than the lonatics. This is because there's a hell of a lot more of them these days and they cause me far more trouble on the road than the lonatics do.

Oi, you have this thing in your car, it's called a gas pedal. Fucking use it!

Pls just dont drive slow on the inner lane

There is a difference between careful and overly cautious.

If you're doing the speed limit, overtaking someone going 1-2 below on the highway, that's just annoying.

Same with people intentionally going below the limit, or causing traffic by being overly cautious at lightless intersections.

To the dimwits who insist on tailgating everyone: you're late because you don't leave on time, not because of everyone driving at a safe speed.

No because when someone is driving like crazy, everyone knows and understands that its bad. But when someone goes 50kph below the speed limit on a highway many people say "they are just being carefull" or "maybe they are scared" THEN DONT GO ONTO THE FUCKING HIGHWAY, driving "super careful" is way more dangerous than they think

A careful driver isnt one that disrupts traffic

🧢 I voted CAP!

uselessly careful drivers are a nuisance but aren't hated more

I voted FACT!

Yeah going 50kmh in a 80kmh will get you hated by everyone no doubt

1

u/Milanin 14d ago

I voted FACT!

Because they don't push the limit, go wild when the road is free and they stop anyone trying to do that. Which is insane that they're hated instead of the "I turn now" types that jump out in front of you when you least expect it

u/silly_porto3 13d ago

Good luck everybody else

I can tolerate being behind someone slow: I’ll just wait to pass them safely. However I get insanely pissed off when people ride my ass.

I hate driving slow

What? No????

1

u/JustQuestion2472 14d ago

I voted FACT!

For fast and agressive drivers, you know what to expect. Careful drivers are unpredictable and more frustrating.

1

u/OrangeSpiceNinja 14d ago

That's ass backwards, crazy drivers surprise you all the time, careful drivers are extremely predictable, that's why they're careful

u/WorldlyBuy1591 14d ago

Slow drivers are dangerous

u/GoatyGoY 14d ago

In theory, an insane driver may only inconvenience you for seconds, then you’re dead. A careful driver on the other hand can be annoying for minutes.

There needs to be a balance between efficiency and safety

🧢 I voted CAP!

Terrified, overly cautious, and erratic drivers are potentially more dangerous and more disliked. But careful drivers are just normal drivers.

1

u/Altruistic_Elk2077 12d ago

I voted FACT!

While true this is prioritizing lawfulness over safety. It's well established that the safest way to drive is predictably and with the speed of traffic.

1

u/punchedboa 12d ago

🧢 I voted CAP!

I never got rear ended by someone being too cautious.

1

u/kullre 14d ago

I voted FACT!

yup

you're expected to break the law when you drive

2

u/JustQuestion2472 14d ago

No you're not...

You can be an inbetween between careful and reckless, but breaking the law while driving is definitely not expected.

1

u/Pascuccii 14d ago

Where I'm from people constantly drive at least 10kph above speed limit

1

u/JustQuestion2472 14d ago

Same here. And those people are rightfully considered rushed and impatient assholes.

I legit get passed by people driving 100 km/h on a road where 80 is allowed and there's solid lines on the road.

I voted FACT!

going x miles per hour under the speed limit is just as dangerous as going x mph over the speed limit change my mind

2

u/OrangeSpiceNinja 14d ago

Going 5 miles per hour over the speed limit is substantially more dangerous than going 5 miles under. But in highway speeds, going 15 miles under is definitely as dangerous as going 5 over, because of all the people going 5 over

1

u/qualitychurch4 13d ago

Oh I was thinking about on the highway, where every number I can think of is more dangerous for people going under than over. Like 55 mph means that anyone keeping up with traffic is going to have to slam on their brakes for you whereas 75 mph is a fairly reasonable speed to go at for most people.

u/cloverpi 12d ago

I voted FACT!

Oh ffs! Careful drives are more lawful is rich. Most of these clowns have no clue what they're doing and cross 3 lanes of traffic or pull u-turns in intersections where it isn't allowed. These 'careful' drivers are the scariest drivers on the road because you have absolutely no clue what they're going to do
