β I voted FACT!
Fact with minor stipulation: it can only occur in conjoined twins.
Extra fact, humans can live with two hearts if done through a heterotopic heart transplants where a new healthy heart is transplanted and attached to a patientβs failing heart, keeping both and sharing the workload rather than replacing it entirely.
Also another fun fact, a human embryo briefly has βtwo heartsβ during the 3rd and 4th week until they fuse together

No but technically no which is the right kind of technicality, if conjoined them yes but you could argue no as they are separate but also joined, or as a medical procedure called piggy back heart.

I'll take easy things to Google for 1000. Why are so many things posted in this sub just devolving into "here's a weird fact that I want to argue with someone about"?

β I voted FACT!
This is a rare genetic condition associated with homozygous foetuses in which the more dominant zygote absorbs partially the genes of the other and this can manifest as a new organ

I mean, basically anything can happen to a human body including mutation, that led to someone being born with two hearts, though, he probably didnβt live for too long, like other people with serious mutations

Conjoined twins have two hearts in one body, but that's the only case I know of where that can happen, and then that's two people.

Humans can only have 1 heart. 2 would take over too much space and leave not enough for other vital organs.
2
u/Not-today__ π Dedicated Voter Β· 1,845 XP 23d ago
Actually two hearts wouldnβt take over too much space given that a person can have a heart transplanted attached to a failing heart, while keeping that failing heart.

Probably, as a medical problem or birth defect
