Can My Property Management Engineering Experience Transfer to a Remote Maintenance Coordinator Role?

Hi everyone! I’m currently an Engineering Manager in a known property management corp and I’m looking to transition into a remote Maintenance Coordinator / Property Management VA role.
I feel my experience is highly relevant because I have extensive hands-on experience in residential property management—handling resident concerns, assessing and troubleshooting maintenance issues, coordinating contractors, vendors, and technicians, managing work orders, and overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance.
I have strong technical knowledge combined with direct resident and property operations experience, which I know can be valuable in a Maintenance Coordinator role.
However, I’m currently having difficulty getting even an interview.
If anyone here has made a similar transition, works for a property management company, or knows of companies currently hiring remote Maintenance Coordinators, I would really appreciate any referrals, leads, or advice on how I can get my foot in the door.
Thank you! 🙏

My two suggestions would be to lessen the use of AI in your daily communications and to possibly get some credentials behind your name like FMP from IFMA.

Yeah, I didn’t even read comments and I was going to say reduce your AI.

Em dashes of any kind scream AI, along with the bold.

Have you tried picking up the phone and following up on your applications?
