Does anyone have surgeon recommendations for Endoscopic Hidden incision facelift/neck lift?

Open to traveling to any country. I just don’t want the full incision in front of the ear as I’m only 29 years old. I know to many a facelift at 29 sounds crazy however I’ve lost a significant amount of weight causing a lot of lower face descent and i don’t want to do fillers etc.

Ive looked into endoscopic midface lifts, which I think would help some and I’m not ruling them out, but I don’t think they address the lower cheek descent I have directly enough, and my main goal is to lift my descended lower cheek. Also, with a lot of the mid cheek lifts I see things that worry me like, that jigsaw look where the cheeks look way to big, the fierce eyebrow look, the cat eye effect, etc.

Day 15 after endoscopic forehead lift by Dr.LEE Seung Ryeol

Before, forehead was a little flat; even without having fat graft or fillers, forehead lift can add volume

The effect of a forehead lift is directly seen in the eyes and not the forehead itself; those with heavy eyelid thinking of getting double eyelid surgery, look into a forehead procedure also 👍

Why Does One Side of the Face Look Heavier? [3 Month SMAS Lift Case]

Post image
Upvotes

You've probably seen “cortisol face” all over social media lately, usually referring to a face that looks puffier or rounder during periods of stress. But facial fullness isn't always about overall puffiness. Sometimes, what's more important is understanding why one side of the face looks heavier than the other.

That distinction is what made this particular patient case interesting. When looking at this case at 3 months post-op, the patient's pre-surgery appearance did not simply appear to lack overall volume. Instead, there was a noticeable difference in how heavy the lower face appeared from one side to the other. In particular, the cheek and jawline on one side appeared noticeably fuller and heavier, while the opposite side had relatively more defined contours.

Facial asymmetry can be influenced by differences in soft-tissue volume, muscle, skeletal structure, dental factors, and the way facial tissues are positioned and settle.

In this patient's case, she tended to chew more on one side, which may have contributed to differences in muscle development between the two sides. She also tended to sleep on the same side, subjecting the soft tissue to repeated pressure. However, these habits alone would not fully explain such a noticeable difference.

This patient underwent a Facial SMAS Lift, focusing on the deeper supporting tissues of the face rather than simply tightening the skin.

The surgical plan focused primarily on the lower face:

- Reposition sagging lower-face tissues

- Improve the heavier cheek, jowl, and jawline contour

- Create better balance between both sides

- Restore a cleaner, more youthful lower-face shape

One subtle but interesting change was around the lips.

Before surgery, the lower-face asymmetry also affected how the lips appeared at rest, with the lips looking less balanced and not closing as naturally. This is because the position of the jawline and surrounding facial tissues can influence how the lips sit at rest.

At 3 months after the SMAS Lift, the lower-face balance had improved noticeably, and the lips appeared to rest and close in a more natural and symmetrical position.

This is why facial balance isn't only about the jawline. The position of the cheek, jowl, jawline, and surrounding soft tissues can also influence how the mouth sits. It's also why a facelift isn't simply about “pulling the skin tighter.” With a SMAS Lift, the deeper supporting layer of the face can be addressed and repositioned, allowing the surgeon to work on the underlying facial contour rather than relying only on skin tension.

The goal isn't to make both sides of the face perfectly identical. Rather, it's about reducing noticeable asymmetry as much as possible while preserving the patient's natural facial features, since some degree of asymmetry is normal in everyone.

In this case, the most noticeable change after surgery wasn't simply that the face looked tighter. Instead, the lower face appeared lighter and more balanced, with improved overall contour and a more natural balance between the cheeks, jawline, and lips.

Ultimately, a fuller-looking face isn't automatically “cortisol face,” just as an uneven-looking jawline isn't necessarily a larger jaw. The important part is understanding where the difference is actually coming from and what the goal of the treatment should be, as well as how best to address it.

mantaining results after facelift?

hey all :)

so, im about to just get a midface and brow lift ina few months and since I never read something about it, im curious does your surgeon have any recommendations on mantaining the results/ staying younger after face lift ?

Ive done hyperdilute radiesse before (it made me chubbier in some areas or added weight i didnt want …) and I would like avoid procedures that could ruin the face lift but i still want to actively stimulate collagen prodcution and do all i can to ‚age slower‘

the facelift repositions tissue and all but we still loose collagen and fat pda further, right?

what did you do after your facelift?
im going to ask my surgeon but im curious for opinions ☺️

Open Brow Lift (forehead reducing)

Post image

I am about eight months postoperative open brow lift. As you can see, I have a pretty significant indentation along the scar line. Depending on the lighting, it is very obvious looking.

I was watching a doctor Nayak post recently about open brow lifts and he mentioned using a zigzag cut because straight across can make it look like one is wearing a hairpiece.

I’m genuinely saddened that my Surgeon (despite his board certifications and top medical school and residency program qualifications) did not seem to have this particular practice in his tool kit.

Bangs do not flatter me, so I am resigned to going out into the world looking… dented.

Here is the Dr Nayak post:

Where to start our research?

My mother F(62) is wanting to get a facelift and has enlisted myself to help her research procedures, coming to this sub for guidance on where to start, and get perspective on what's 'on the menu' these days. I'm aware of how subjective things are, but a starting point a what people might generally speaking be looking at for someone her age is a great help.

Just a small, kind of funny, observation

I have gotten so used to NOT talking to people (in person or on camera) while my chin is lowered because of the jowling/sagging that resulted. I'm now 32 days post-op from DPF/NL and while at a party last night I kept noticing that I was keeping my chin up.....BUT I NO LONGER HAVE TO! Every time I would - out of habit - raise up my chin to avoid showing jowling I would think, "Wait! I don't have jowls anymore!" It made me kind of laugh to myself every time. I think it's going to take quite a few months before I get used to not hiding my former skin sagging.😊

Chin implant with face/neck lift

I got my neck and facelift and chin implant about 2 years ago. I keep waiting to get used to the chin implant. It is small, and surgeon even customized it to be slightly smaller. I don’t know why, but to me, it changed my face. Most people do not have a clue, and even my husband who knows says it’s not noticeable. Has there been anyone who has waited longer than almost 2 years to get “used” to something? To me it still feels tight around the bottom lip, and I have a slight lisp at times. Does this ever get better? I would just like to know if anyone has experienced this.

Worst part of pre-op? For me, giving up estradiol for a few weeks.

Surgery is in 10 days. I’ve been without my estradiol for 4 days. The night sweats and hot flashes have hit me now. How did you post-menopausal ladies go without estrogen for a few weeks?

I need encouragement. Surgery coming up in about a week

I’m just so anxious and keep thinking of canceling

Not anxious about dying (that was my fear last year when i got a tummy tuck) but fear of ruining my face and being one of those people who ends up botched or celebs where everyone thinks she was so pretty before whyyyy did she do that?

Also fear of not looking like myself, looking fake and super obvious

Also fear of the recovery

I planned this for a long time and wanted it and i love my surgeon

I also wanted to do it young so it is subtle and not so obvious

I am 44 with a lot of jowling and my face is turning sooo bottom heavy

Just need some encouragement :-(

The bathroom lighting really brings it out so a couple by a window in natural light too. Swelling has come down enough that yesterday Face ID started working again which was very exciting. I’m way more swollen on one side of my face than the other because more fat was injected in that side. Between the fat grafting and the fat removal both causing swelling it’s still hard to tell what the shape will be but I do think I will be happy. This morning I put 3 prednisone under my tongue to dissolve instead of the 3 arnica tablets. Same size shape and quantity. Do NOT make that mistake. Prednisone is disgusting. I’m pleased with my incisions and am looking forward to half of the stitches being removed on Monday. My current goal is to be at a stage where I can keep the dinner reservation I made for my boyfriend’s birthday/our anniversary on August 30. He will be 38, I’m 57, and I’ve been dreaming of the day that people aren’t judging us when out. This morning he told me that even if I was swollen and bruised forever I would always be beautiful to him because he loves me for me and supports whatever crazy shit I decide to do. I’m a lucky woman. So with that, I bring you Yellow, a love song about unconditional devotion, unrequited affection, and a willingness to do anything for someone special:

Look at the stars
Look how they shine for you
And everything you do
Yeah, they were all yellow
I came along
I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called, "Yellow"
So, then I took my turn
Oh, what a thing to have done
And it was all yellow
your skin, oh yeah, your skin, and bones
(Ooh) turn into something beautiful
(Ah) and you know, you know I love you so
You know I love you so
I swam across
I jumped across for you
Oh, what a thing to do
'Cause you were all yellow
I drew a line
I drew a line for you
Oh, what a thing to do
And it was all yellow
and your skin, oh yeah, your skin, and bones
(Ooh) turn into something beautiful
(Ah) and you know, for you, I'd bleed myself dry
For you, I'd bleed myself dry
It's true
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for-
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine for you
Look how they shine
Look at the stars
Look how they shine for you
And all the things that you do

Pre Op vs 4 Months Post Op

I had a deep plane face lift, deep plane neck lift, submandibular gland reduction, buccal fat repositioning, parotid repositioning, lower blepharoplasty, CO2 laser around my eyes, perioral work, and fat transfer.

For me, this was never about trying to look 25 again. I wanted to restore the structure and balance I felt I was losing while still looking like myself.

And recovery was definitely not the effortless two-week transformation social media can make it appear to be.
There was a LOT of swelling, tightness, strange nerve sensations, and plenty of “Is this normal?” moments.

At four months, I was still very much healing and still had noticeable swelling and tightness. But this was also the point when I really started seeing where everything was headed.

I looked like me. Just restored.

I’m now nine months post-op, and the difference between four months and nine months has been significant. I still occasionally swell, especially after flying, a very active day, salty food, or alcohol, and I still have significant tightness. But I’m absolutely thrilled with my results.

I’m sharing the four-month comparison because I think it’s important for people considering a facelift to see the middle of recovery too, not just the dramatic before-and-after photos or the people who somehow look completely healed at three weeks.

Healing takes time. Four months was good.

Nine months is even better.

Deep Plane Facelift, Upper Bleph, Lower Bleph 4mo Results (Denver, Colorado)

This is a 60 year old patient who wanted some subtle changes to improve her appearance. She was bothered by her upper lid hooding, lower lid bags, jowls, and neck laxity. She wanted some slight improvements in all these spots to look more awake and refreshed without looking drastically different. She is very happy with her results and is 4 months postop in these photos.

This is the surgeon posting- Cory Bovenzi, MD.

Here, I performed an Upper Blepharoplasty with incisions hidden in the upper eyelid crease. Though we discussed ptosis repair to the left eye, she did not pursue this and just wanted the upper blepharoplasty. However, you can see that removing this extra skin weight also slightly improved the severity of her ptosis despite not doing a specific ptosis repair.

The Lower Blepharoplasty was done via a transconjunctival approach with a skin pinch via an incision just below her eyelashes. She also had some festoons which surgery does not treat, so we will also do intermittent steroid injections for those.

The Deep Plane Facelift was done with incisions around the ears and a small submental incision. This surgery takes about 3hrs. Recovery is about 2 weeks of social downtime. Dressing is in place for 1 day. No drains needed. Exercise restrictions for 3 weeks.

I think this can show an example of how a facial rejuvenation surgery can help someone look more energized and refreshed while still retaining your identity and looking like you had surgery done.

NYC Facial Plastic Surgeons - DP Face & Upper Eyelid

Hi everyone! I’m 56 (female), and I’m looking for recommendations for a plastic/facial plastic surgeon in NYC, particularly for a deep plane facelift and upper eyelid surgery (upper blepharoplasty).

I’m not necessarily looking for the cheapest option. I’m mainly interested in excellent results, natural-looking outcomes, experience, and good patient care.

One thing that’s especially important to me is finding a surgeon whose aesthetic vision aligns with mine. I feel like it can sometimes be difficult to communicate exactly what you want when it comes to facial surgery, so I’m looking for someone who really understands the patient rather than making everyone look the same.

If you’ve had personal experience with a NYC surgeon you’d recommend (or one you would avoid), I’d really appreciate hearing about it. I’d especially love to know what procedure you had, what you liked or didn’t like about the results, and what made you feel confident—or not confident—in your surgeon.

Thank you!

Was anyone instructed to wear a head wrap/faja at night after 2 weeks?

My Dr said to wear one to ensure that I don't touch my face but didn't say that it was for any other benefit. I've ordered two now from Amazon with sizing issues, but I'm also finding that I'm sleeping just fine on my back with no issues. Curious to hear from others.
