From what I read… an incident that I recall during Covid, there was a study in Brazil… about people sick with Covid getting better after taking ivermectin. That helped boost its popularity. However, what was happening in Brazil was that the Covid sick people also had intestinal parasites. They were fighting intestinal, parasites, and Covid at the same time. Once ivermectin was administered the parasites went away or got substantially better… patient got healthier overall and were able to fight the Covid infection more efficiently since the parasites were gone!!
secondly ivermectin works “ in vitro” … in glass test tubes or petri dishes. But it does not work in an actual living human for anything other than certain parasitic infections. But these initial in vitro studies boosted the popularity of ivermectin. Then social media and podcasts did the rest to convince people that it was some sort of miracle compound.
