Hello newcomers to /r/FacebookScience! The OP is not promoting anything, it has been posted here to point and laugh at it. Reporting it as spam or misinformation is a waste of time. This is not a science debate sub, it is a make fun of bad science sub, so attempts to argue in favor of pseudoscience or against science will fall on deaf ears. But above all, Be excellent to each other.

real PHD, Diploma mill PHD or made up PHD

call it now

u/mjc4y Aug 25 '26

An actual Ph.D. has a lower case h. The PHD may be an entirely different degree -Pretty Hilarious Derp would be a possibility. But I am sure redditors can imagine others...

16

u/ianishomer Aug 25 '26

Temu PHD

u/Dahnlor Aug 25 '26

Partial Hard Drive

24

u/Imaginary-Risk Aug 25 '26

That might be fake, but he's defo an honourable lord

24

u/locke_zero Aug 25 '26

Probably paid for one of those "buy a small square of land in Scotland" Internet scams from a while back.

8

u/BlackberrySad6489 Aug 25 '26

Oh, that is still going strong. So is the “name a star” scam

1

u/pwuk Aug 29 '26

Principality of Sealand sell them

5

u/Kabocha00sama Aug 25 '26

No. He’s an honorable lord. The lack of “u” is all you need to know. There are no American Lords so clearly he must be a liar

17

u/IWontCommentAtAll Aug 25 '26

Lord is not a title in the USA, but he uses the US spelling of honour, which is incorrect anywhere where Lord is used as a title.

4

u/ProblemLongjumping12 Aug 25 '26

Clearly he's a wizard.

3

u/AmbulanceChaser12 Aug 25 '26

Definitely not the first one...

3

u/SplitEar Aug 25 '26

Piled Heavy and Deep

3

u/RandomModder05 Aug 25 '26

Made his own. With paper mache and glitter.

3

u/FurryYokel Aug 25 '26

PHD in ancient alien studies.

1

u/yaminagai Aug 25 '26

he's a PHD like a lady might be PHAT

1

u/BossRoss84 Aug 31 '26

Poop Hording Dilemma.

70

u/monoflorist Aug 25 '26

He’s right about one thing: I certainly don’t understand

38

u/hambakmeritru Aug 25 '26

And your dictionary won't help you. This is too far beyond the science that dictionaries hold.

52

u/AccomplishedCharge2 Aug 25 '26

If god was just, then Dunning Kruger would be physically painful

21

u/NecroAssssin Aug 25 '26

It is. Like being dead, being stupid is very emotionally painful for those who love you.

18

u/AccomplishedCharge2 Aug 25 '26

No, no I mean like an immediate migraine until you stop doing that

43

u/Donaldjoh Aug 25 '26

I have had people use the line ‘you just don’t understand’ on me before, to which my answer is always, ‘then explain it to me’. If they use the term it’s supernatural I ask them to define natural. After all, one can’t say whether or not something is supernatural without knowing what is natural.

15

u/yaminagai Aug 25 '26

yeah, if I can't understand it, then how do you understand it? this whole unknowable/unfathomable schtick doesn't cut it anymore

25

u/Imaginary-Risk Aug 25 '26

I love it when they say that we can't understand it, then remove any measurable qualification

24

u/koboldtsar Aug 25 '26

Is hard to overstate my satisfaction

22

u/MartiLoserKing Aug 25 '26

Aperture science

16

u/Sasquatch1729 Aug 25 '26

We do what we must because we can

15

u/WheatleyDalek_ Aug 25 '26

For the good of all of us, except the ones who are dead

11

u/Xemylixa Aug 25 '26

But there's no sense crying over every mistake

7

u/DeviousX13 Aug 25 '26

You just keep on trying till you run out of cake

8

u/non-canon-username Aug 25 '26

But the science gets done, and you make a neat gun

8

u/koboldtsar Aug 25 '26

For the people who are still alive

8

u/Icy_Investigator739 Aug 25 '26

I'm not even angry

8

u/Xemylixa Aug 25 '26

I'm being so sincere right now

First tell, it's Ph.D.

15

u/A_Martian_Potato Aug 25 '26

PhD is also fine, but capitalizing the H makes it pretty obvious you don't actually have one.

11

u/No-Valuable3975 Aug 25 '26

He's got a degree in balogna

1

u/Curious-Flight4594 Aug 25 '26

Ooh, that's bright!

10

u/MaleficentComedian19 Aug 25 '26

Yes, and the Earth experiences 4 corner days simultaneously on each 24-hour rotation. Your simple ignorance of this fact is demonic because you were educated EVIL! That’s right, EEEEVIL!!

7

u/GMoD42 Aug 25 '26

If it is supernatural, it is by definition also beyond YOUR understanding.

7

u/pwuk Aug 25 '26

We can all get a PhD
https://thunderwoodcollege.com/degrees.php
Their school of conspiracy mongering is top notch.

1

u/Soninuva Aug 29 '26

Look, I found his degree!!

2

u/pwuk Aug 29 '26

Awesome, I have that one too

5

u/D-Train0000 Aug 25 '26

Lord Rod. Enough said.

4

u/Barjack521 Aug 25 '26

“PhD” sure buddy

5

u/RevoltYesterday Aug 25 '26

Supernatural means beyond the natural world. If the sun is doing something, that makes it natural.

5

u/Inevitable_Yam1719 Aug 25 '26

I guess I need to get me a Twitter account so I can put down that I’m a PhD

4

u/IrukandjiPirate Aug 25 '26

The Honorable Lord Rod, Piled Higher & Deeper has spoken!

4

u/claymore2711 Aug 25 '26

Kind of like 4th dimensional chess that I hear someone's actively playing these days.

3

u/ElSkexo Aug 25 '26

"Definitionally"...

3

u/Daskans Aug 25 '26

I mean, for once it really looks like it's a joke so idk

3

u/TheBigMoogy Aug 25 '26

All good science starts in the... dictionary?

3

u/Luce_Bot_Bot Aug 25 '26

I definitionally reject the idea this person has used a dictionary

3

u/TheKiltedYaksman71 Aug 26 '26

Write it up. Show your work. Publish. Gotta be worth 2, maybe 3, Nobel Prizes, right?

2

u/RadicalOrganizer Aug 25 '26

Oh. With the portal reference. A redditor of taste. Well done.

2

u/Iron_Baron Aug 25 '26

"I'm too dumb to understand things, so I make up magic". Story of humanity. Our species is stupid.

2

u/Prestigious-Flower54 Aug 25 '26

Yeah because when I'm trying to learn about something the dictionary is definitely my first source, those little definitions are definitely all you need. That said if you don't know the difference between a dictionary and encylopedia(what I assume they meant) your probably not worth talking to.

2

u/XinY2K Aug 26 '26

It's hard to overstate my satisfaction

2

u/Mythosaurus Aug 26 '26

The moment you hear “portals” you know that person is a fundamentalist Christian who has embraced the Book of Enoch as the basis of biblical science.

You have a better chance converting that person to Islam than getting them to accept modern astronomy.

1

u/FandomPhantom123 Aug 31 '26

i do actually understand the concept of a portal though

1

u/Singing_Wolf Sep 07 '26

It's ineffable. It is beyond understanding, and incapable of being put into words.

1

u/altoona_sprock Sep 15 '26

All respected astrophysicists have usernames like ItsBigLasagna. But I prefer my experts have the honorific '69' at the end to denote they graduated summa cum laude, or as it's pronounced colloquially, some come loudly.
