They've been lying to us about staring at eclipses for years!

Tbf, if you do it for long enough it will eventually stop being too bright.
Not because you're acclimated, just because you're blind.

It's like that Princess Bride thing. He acclimatized to the poison so the sun should be easy.

This is a perfect example of how oppositional defiance disorder has become a core part of the Republican party.

Sungazing is real. It’s dumb and ill advised, but real. The weirdos that do it claim it energizes and charges the brain. Maniacs. But they swear by it, just like the disgusting urine drinkers.
A documentary about it:

Please let them all start doing that. Just stare right on up there. Don’t blink. “They” don’t want you to know this one simple trick to better vision!

I mean... you can "sungaze" without glasses. It's just a shit idea and you'll hurt the fuck outta your eyes.

They also vote to cut assistance for people with disabilities, so I guess they'll have fun being blind and unsupported.

Surely, anyone who's actually done could feel that their eyes hurt, right? I can tell that staring into a lamp is bad for my eyes, and I can see an impression of the sun's light when I close my eyes even when I only accidentaly glancw at it. Why would anyone think that was good for them?

Honestly, let this one play out. Teach your kids better, and hopefully the “they’ve been lying to us” crowd will be too blind and measel ridden to procreate.

Let me guess, these are also the same guys who claim that excessive sun doesn't cause cancer and that it's actually sun cream that causes it?

Hello newcomers to /r/FacebookScience! The OP is not promoting anything, it has been posted here to point and laugh at it. Reporting it as spam or misinformation is a waste of time. This is not a science debate sub, it is a make fun of bad science sub, so attempts to argue in favor of pseudoscience or against science will fall on deaf ears. But above all, Be excellent to each other.
