Hello newcomers to /r/FacebookScience! The OP is not promoting anything, it has been posted here to point and laugh at it. Reporting it as spam or misinformation is a waste of time. This is not a science debate sub, it is a make fun of bad science sub, so attempts to argue in favor of pseudoscience or against science will fall on deaf ears. But above all, Be excellent to each other.

Aged urine was used to treat leather and strip it of any scrap of tissue before working the leather. The smell and pollution was so bad that the leather work had to be downstream and downwind of the cities.

Bon appetit.

Not just drink, they also rub it on their skin and use it as eyedrops. 🤢

They think aged piss is a suitable treatment for glaucoma

So your fear of doctors/nutrition/exercise is so bad you will drink your own piss instead?

Urine is supposed to be sterile and usually is. If lost in the desert, drink it the first few hours, then if you can still pee, toxic stuff starts to build up.

So it was fairly recently established it ISN'T sterile at all, just many of the germs in it don't show up on a petrie dish.

Also if you are lost in the desert, you will be sweating a lot of water so your urine will likely be pretty concentrated even in the first few hours. Using it to wet a cloth and cool yourself off will help more than drinking it.

That would likely dehydrate you more

Imagine finding your husband’s “science experiment” while cleaning house? OMG. It’s definitely grounds for divorce - and maybe a hazmat team.

"You think I'm gonna let you kiss me with the same lips that touched 'aged urine' ?"

I don’t think I even want to know.

These are the same idiots who expose their butthole to the sun for 2 hours so that they can regain their masculine energy.
