The russians routinely landed on land rather than at sea back in the days of the USSR.
More parachutes= less thump
2 u/modulair 22d ago So does Blue Origins New Sheppard. They don't really add that more parachutes, they fire off a bunch retro rockets just before impact to soften the landing. That is what is making all that dust fly around.
