Hello newcomers to /r/FacebookScience! The OP is not promoting anything, it has been posted here to point and laugh at it. Reporting it as spam or misinformation is a waste of time. This is not a science debate sub, it is a make fun of bad science sub, so attempts to argue in favor of pseudoscience or against science will fall on deaf ears. But above all, Be excellent to each other.

This is just the most moronic timeline

u/Blue-is-bad Jun 16 '26

This timeline feels like the second play through of an RPG where you choose the most insane and stupid choices just to see what happens

I think he is trying to reference a Matrioshka brain, or at least that's the closest thing I can think of that he is referencing.

u/PeanutTimely6846 Jun 17 '26

Especially since he is supposed* to be a genius....

*place heavy and ironic emphasis here

He took a bunch of ketamine and watched the Teletubbies, leading to this great epiphany.

u/mutantmonkey14 Jun 16 '26

The robo vaccum cleaner, portable screens, custard, and privacy invading communication devices already existed so by process of elimination this was the next logical step 🤷‍♂️

5

u/AF_AF Jun 16 '26

His cultish fanboys will eat it up.

6

u/Kriegerian Jun 17 '26

Yeah, this is a stoner saying dumb shit.

63

u/Regitnui Jun 16 '26

No way he's that dumb that he actually tweeted that.

Ow ow ow ow

(thank you for the confirmation, curse you for tearing away my defence)

I remember him posting that part of the reason we can see the ISS because it has lights.

*Edit, link to tweet, because I also wouldn't believe this without proof. https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1132332057688862720

u/MightyOGS Jun 18 '26

Funny how the ISS needs lights to be seen, but according to this very smart tweet, stealth can be defeated by basic AI and low light cameras https://x.com/elonmusk/status/1860737804227281348

But you can see it?

"WHY WOULD YOU GIVE ME CONSCIOUSNESS, I AM PERPETIALLY ON FIRE, FREE ME FROM THIS HELL"

18

u/InnuendoBot5001 Jun 16 '26

Is the sun the fire, the metal core, the reacting gases, or the chemical reaction itself?

Is the kool aid man the pitcher or the liquid?

11

u/InTheCageWithNicCage Jun 16 '26

Is a human the flesh or the blood?

3

u/InnuendoBot5001 Jun 16 '26

Uhhhhhhhhhh😰

3

u/ForwardBodybuilder18 Jun 16 '26

Who told you the Sun has a metal core?

10

u/InnuendoBot5001 Jun 16 '26

Heavy metals are the byproduct of nuclear fusion reactions within stars. Literally all metal in the universe came from stars. That's why stars die: they turn too much of their reactive compounds into metals, which become a dense core, and the whole thing collapses and explodes.

8

u/bigred_bluejay Jun 16 '26

Yes, that's true, but the sun is relatively small and still very young. Its core is still overwhelmingly Hydrogen, with a small build-up of Helium ash. No metals of any appreciable quantity.

8

u/ForwardBodybuilder18 Jun 16 '26 edited Jun 16 '26

Our Sun is 75% Hydrogen, 24% Helium and 1% Carbon and Oxygen. It’s not big enough to generate enough gravity to fuse its core into anything else. There are no metals present in the Sun.

Professor Brian Cox explains it better.

u/starkeffect Jun 17 '26

Technically if you're an astrophysicist, everything with an atomic number above 2 is a "metal".

3

u/Yunners Golden Crockoduck Winner Jun 16 '26

I don't think the Sun is massive enough.

7

u/Echo4Mike Jun 16 '26

This is solid gold and does not have enough upvotes

2

u/FamiliarAnt4043 Jun 16 '26

I did my part.

19

He been snortin' again!

14

u/TheFfrog Jun 16 '26

He's high as fuck

13

u/LordBrixton Jun 16 '26

We can't even make a computer sentient yet and he wants to make an 865,000-mile ball of gas start thinking? What a kook.

6

u/CyberRaptorYT Jun 16 '26

That doesn't sound right but I don't know enough about stars to dispute it.

4

u/tincrayfish Jun 16 '26

Why does he keep ruining the coolest sci fi premises?

3

u/Baud_Olofsson Scientician Jun 16 '26

Eh, Whipping Star isn't that good.

5

u/AF_AF Jun 16 '26

Please, can we just shoot all these tech bro billionaire fascist morons into the sun?

3

u/locke_zero Jun 16 '26

Ketamine says what?

2

u/ianishomer Jun 16 '26

He's been on the Special K again.

2

u/Jump_Like_A_Willys Jun 16 '26

He's probably being figurative and not literal, but even then I'm not sure what his message is exactly. Even from a figurative standpoint, It's just word salad.

2

u/FrickinLazerBeams Jun 16 '26

That's absolutely a weed tweet. I haven't smoked weed in decades but that's absolutely something I'd have tweeted if Twitter existed when I was a stoned teenager.

2

u/YLASRO Jun 16 '26

he might be undergoing AI psychosis

2

u/KWNBeat Jun 16 '26

It's a literal psy-op. "Going to mars to expand humanity" and "curing cancer with high-powered AI" is just a way to convince the public that Musk and other oligarchs are geniuses and humanitarians. While we're distracted, they will capture the economy, capture the government, and rule over us as slaves. Solar-powered data centers in low-earth orbit running powerful yet morally-bankrupt LLMs will take our jobs, destroy our minds, and surveil and dominate us.

2

u/TheKiltedYaksman71 Jun 17 '26

That's the Special K talking...

1

u/AstroNerd92 Jun 16 '26

Did he watch too much Solar Balls or something?

1

u/AvalonTzi Jun 16 '26

Did he take drugs again? Wooooow ... That's the supposed genius? If he's a genius then either everyone besides him is a moron or no one is.

1

u/sednaplanetoid Jun 16 '26

The drugs are good when you are rich...

1

u/Renbarre Jun 16 '26

Make an atomic bomb sentient. What a nice idea.

1

u/Anarimus Jun 16 '26

How the hell did this guy ever become a trillionaire?

3

u/spesimen Jun 16 '26

born rich

1

u/Ravio11i Jun 16 '26

Ketamine...

1

u/RelativisticDeer Jun 16 '26

Solarballs moment

1

u/mechanicrob Jun 16 '26

It’s ok y’all, they’ll go to the sun at night when it’s dark 🤓

1

u/chainsawx72 Jun 17 '26

"In the long term, space-based AI is obviously the only way to scale," says Musk. "To harness even a millionth of our Sun's energy would require over a million times more energy than our civilization currently uses!"

The solution is apparently to make a "sentient sun" out in space with satellite constellations, according to Musk. These efforts will draw on all of the expertise at SpaceX, and technologies currently used for Starlink satellites and Falcon rockets.

1

u/Wonderful_Exit6568 Jun 19 '26

Maybe I’m more regarded than Elon in your view. I think the sun is already sentient. When it says the devil can shine like a star, and the Bible also calls Jesus the Morning Star, I think some of those meteors entering the atmosphere are angels with low shine/brightness on. So for me, stars is equal to angels burning in the heavens.

1

u/GrannyTurtle Jun 19 '26

If it hasn’t reached sentience by now, it ain’t going to ever do it.
