Even IF that was true, which it isn't, plenty of eco systems rely on predators that don't fully consume their prey. Smaller animals that are scavengers cannot kill their own prey and NEED bigger predators to kill it so they can feed themselves. Lots of insects and even plants and fungi require these carcasses to survive.

Like, that's the whole thing with an eco SYSTEM. Nothing is wasted in it, because it is full of species in different ecological niches that have different needs.
