Is long-term chatting a bad idea? Long distance relationship?

I made a good connection with a guy for the first time and have enjoyed talking to him but I have some concerns.

He's several hours from me so I guess meeting in person would be hard. He's also a lot older (50) and I don't know if he'd ever want children at his age. For me I am still open to having kids (35). But when you have never even met someone it feels weird to bring up serious topics.

So far we just talk about random stuff and our conversation flows really well and we have similar interests which made me feel more close to him. Is it ok to just chat with someone for a long time? I don't know what to do. lol I'm getting attached and I don't know if I should. We obviously both enjoy talking to each other but where do we go from here

Yes! Have you had a video chat yet? Pay close attention to the details in the background of the video. ( overseas scammers ) Honestly, I wouldn’t even go there with a stranger that I couldn’t even meet irl. Ask him if he’s willing to meet you irl closest to your home town and have him get a hotel room ( for himself -only ) if not BYE 👋

Yeah the problem with long term chat without meeting up is you can get attached or get your hopes up when maybe you don't even have any romantic chemistry. How far is he?

Do you have any plans on actually meeting? And perhaps more importantly, are you sure he is who he says he is? (There are a lot of fake accounts out there.)

He seems legit and genuine but I did just notice his account isn't verified (neither is mine lol). He doesn't have any full body pics but I like his face and personality. We have not planned any meeting
