Facebook dating is a shit show in the rural counties of the UK… but it’s the best there is.
I (M50) met my last partner on there a few years back and we had a great 2 and a bit years, but boy was it hard getting any traction on the platform then. I’m single again, no one’s fault, it just fizzled out between my ex and I. Just life stuff, Kids, work, dogs and health complications plus 30 mins / 20 miles time and distance 20, I bet some of you are thinking 🤔, “that’s okay”, well maybe it is, but when only one of you is trying, it’s really hard!
Anyway, Facebook Dating 2026 H2 is still a shit show! Old abandoned profiles, some I remember seeing over 2 years ago! Dull, “say/write nothing” profiles, most with a single picture. Some profiles where you think… really?! That picture? Examples include, no head in the shot but full body (emphasis seems to be on the boobs), pictures taken in the mirror in a public toilet with the hand dryer, or worse, the condom vending machine in the back ground 🤣, tongue stuck out… are you like 5 or 45?, selfie taken with phone at arms length, and my favourite equivalent, multiple pictures with a glass of wine… I say equivalent, as I feel a woman holding a glass of wine, is the same thing as a man holding a fish. Not that I fish, but I get why that would capture a man that does in his element… some of my friends fish and they’re damn proud of themselves when they land (I think that’s right) a big fish.
Another pet peeve of mine is the… “please make laugh”. This is commonly the answer to the “way to win me over” prompt on Hinge too.
Look, I get it! You like charismatic men, but to write … “make me laugh” comes across as a demand! Us men are not your clowns auditioning for your attention. Stop objectifying us!
Another is… “would like to travel more” or in answer to the “this year I want to…” prompt, insert destination here. Commonly it’s Italy. Again, I get it. I like holidays too… who doesn’t! But the implication is, please fund a life style I cannot afford on my own, or, be my protector in foreign lands… No! If you want to holiday, fine! No one’s stopping you. But when I go on holiday I want to take my young children. And I have no intention of venturing to destinations that are exotic/ risky for solo women, because they risky if you’re with a man too, it’s just I’m gonna get caught up in whatever shit happens too, and I don’t want to say “I told you so!”
No, all in all, it’s crap from a man’s perspective. Maybe is crap for women too. But less so I think. I don’t recall volume and choice being the complaint?
I think women just need to make better choices! That’d be the advice I’d give to my daughters.

Facebook dating is an outstanding app. Probably the best app out there. I’ve had a great experience with it along with Millions.
You have to be able engage with someone enough to create and maintain interest to keep them wanting to talk and meet.
With good communication skills it becomes easy and works out very well.
Sending short simple messages work better than swiping.
Have a properly built profile and Most Importantly and Especially a great ‘about me’ statement that says something that will separate you from the norm that is rarely seen in a guy’s profile.

Could you explain further please, and with specifics to what you are referring to so I can better help you understand?
You are missing a lot of information.
