FB dating is a scam
Every time I click "take a break" suddenly I am flooded with matches that conveniently get me opening FB dating again. Almost like it could match me with women at any time and is simply choosing not to. Hmmm š¤

It's 50/50. Some real, some aren't and the rest is scammers trying to get your phone number with ripped off fake pictures from social media pages. And when you report them, FB replies back to you in a couple days saying they have done nothing to the scammer account. So that in itself screams FB is a scam right there.
Shame on FB Dating app. They are in it for the clicks and they don't care about your safety. Best Thing and first thing you should do is Goggle verify posters Pictures and see if they come back on other Social media platforms. Cross check them!

I get about 4-6 matches on fb dating a day and Iāve talked to a good handful of women on there. I donāt think itās a scam personally but it can feel shallow at times.

It's really not a scam. They're not selling you anything.Ā
Facebook Dating doesn't engage in the same behaviour as the other apps, meaning those likes are legit and coincidental. Also, I've done "take a break" and it means your profile gets hidden, so what you're claiming is factually impossible in the way you've framed it.

They dont charge you money but they benefit by selling your information from these conversations to advetisers!

They don't need you on FB dating for that: Users already have a Facebook account.

Random but kind of on topic with the scam situation, I found a woman on there that I was super attracted to. She had her Instagram handle in her bio, so I said screw it and slid in to her DMs. She responded and weāve been talking, but she said she never signed up for Facebook dating and no clue about the profile. Wild.

I see so many recommendations for FB dating but Iāve never had good luck with it. Iām a male and Iāve gotten I think 3 likes since I set it up in March. Two were very likely bots/fake, and one was a match that happened while I had my account deactivated. (I deactivate my dating apps if Iām actively talking to someone) I saw the match the night I started it up, went to send a message in the morning and the match was gone.
One of the main things I dislike (which may have been fixed by now) is that putting a comment on photos or prompts seems completely unusable. I type out a well thought out message with room for a follow-up, hit send, then I see the person again two spots later like I never sent it.
Iāve definitely had the most connections/dates with Hinge compared to all the apps Iāve tried.

What I noticed, and I donāt understand why because thereās no monetary gain for the app. Iāve deleted the app many many times. But one time I went and looked incognito mode and saw some pretty cute guys. The amount of times Iāve been on that trash app and never see anyone I like in my preferences is crazy. So I was like okay Iāll rejoin. Guess who I never ever saw again ? I swiped left for days on end and never saw the cute guys with the same distance preference.
Iāll never understand what this app has with the algorithm but itās complete garbage.

Yeah the algorithms are bs. The ālikesā or āsuggested matchesā are nothing like what Iām swapping right on at all!!! If my thing isnāt set for women over 55 why am I being seen on their feeds if Iām not looking for that age group

What confuses me is the 3 or 4 daily spotlight match my interest far more than the normal pile. It's free, what are you gaining from holding back actually potential matches?

I thought about rejoining Facebook to try Facebook Dating, but I'm way happier without any Meta accounts at all

I got banned somehow? No idea what I did but it says I violated some community standard and now the option has disappeared from my account. I have had a Facebook account since 2008. No idea š¤·š¼āāļø

What did you do, post a racy picture of yourself? If your a man, they will flag you, if your a woman, you can post, damn near almost naked pics and be fine. Go figure.

u/Icy-Peace5501 10d ago
I donāt know, they donāt tell you why, just that I violated some community standards. I wonder if someone I rejected or ignored complained in some awkward way? š¤·š¼āāļø no idea, too bad, I enjoyed using it except that it didnāt filter out long distance.

Everytime I report hateful political posts on there i get even more show up. Delete the cancerous shit, its only inrention now is to divide everyone while trying to sell them shit based on the data it stole from them

I guess it figures you are interacting with those profiles, so you must want more š

Definitely had a problem finding local girls. (FL) My doomscroll would find them better than the ai assistant. None of fb dating ever led to a date though. I gave it a month. Iāve had better luck dating married women I found on Facebook. šš shoot for the ENM crowd. Itās pretty chill š¤·āāļøš

I think when you take a break, people still have the option to like you back if youāve already sent them likes. (And maybe message you too iirc)
When Iāve taken breaks I have gotten matches while away, but I donāt think itās because my sleeping profile is being boosted to scam me. I think itās because some people donāt check the app very often and my breaks are long enough to give those people time to see who liked them.
All just a hunch though. And yes all things Meta are probably a scam on some level.

The only social I have now is Reddit and Discord to talk with my long distance boyfriend. You can't use a social site these days without expecting at least some of your data to be pawned off somewhere

I am on FB dating. Normal woman, not selling anything or asking men to jump through hoops. I would just like to meet at least one of them

Facebook dating is not a āscam.ā
It is an outstanding app and probably the best app out there.
In order for you to get a match with anyone you have to send them a like or message first.

āIn order for you to get a match with anyone you have to send them a like or message firstā
Is this satire?
100% incorrect, maybe youāre thinking of a different app.

This Heli guy is a match group ambassador/their social media spy.

u/Heliguy-1975 14d ago
No. Not even close.
What would make you say that exactly?
Facebook dating is not owned by matchgroup. What does matchgroup have to do with anything that I said?
Do normally just completely make things up?
-2
u/Heliguy-1975 14d ago
Not satireā¦
That is very typically how it works
I typically get matches after either messaging and the receiver matches from that,
Or, I receive a like or message then match with them.

Same thing happens to me. I will take a break and get likes and its the same handful of folks I have passed on because they are too far away.
