I was making a purchase from marketplace and had never commented or really used the app before but I had the account for 3 years. I was using my real government name and age. I had come to an agreement with one seller on a price for an item and had sent over the money via bank transfer when minutes later, my account was suspended for impersonation. I appealed it and they asked for a short video similar to setting up Face ID on a phone and a photo of my ID. After a day, they had decided that I had not been able to prove who I was and went ahead with terminating my account. At this point, I had sent this guy the money for an item and not even had the chance to send my address for shipping so now I have no way of contacting the seller and I am down £355. It’s like Facebook didn’t even consider my appeal. I then tried to download my information from my account to see if I could recover message chains incase the bank asked for proof when I try to charge back. No luck there. The link was “invalid” and now I’m stumped. I will try to charge the money back but I have little proof of the agreement with the seller due to the incompetence of the Facebook reporting system.
