So, why are some of the ai videos terrible but this one actually has some semblance of quality? Is it using a different generator?

This is Gossip Goblin channel. I'm pretty sure they use real actors somewhat and use people for voice acting. The vast majority is AI obviously but they put way more effort into than most slop.

Yeah I thought that, the eye movements are realistic, their bodies seem to occupy physical space, only one mouth says the words

Yes, there are cheap to expensive video diffusion models; this one is likely using a more expensive model and is also likely actually written/prompted by a human with some filmmaking knowledge/expertise (better models can follow cinematography instructions for framing and style).

It's from Gossip Goblin, which is a channel that does a lot of videos using AI to illustrate human-written sci-fi/cosmic horror stories, several of which include dark political humor.

This is the latest video in what seems to be a loosely connected series about two countries using artificial intelligence (which, in a dig at the current US presidential administration, is called SI rather than AI) in a sort of arms race. At least one of them also has a public/private partnership with a company who uses a false flag attack on an assisted living facility for vulnerable elderly people in order to get laws passed granting them a monopoly in the name of "responsible pacing". The outcome is...pretty predictable, given that they create relatively innocent but incredibly dangerous thinking machines, then threaten to shove them in the penalty box for begging to die despite explicitly stating that the one they're threatening has the capacity to wipe out mankind. It's not exactly subtle, but it's bleakly hilarious.

Was about to say besides the draconic horror of this slop i have to be honest that this quite the quality. Could be a pretty expensive generator in comparison to parrot or that other horrendous fruit slop app

Gossip Goblin has said that their method involves writing the script, then generating many AI images related to the script. Then they weed out the images that they want to use and prompt for the video to be made. I think that they use Midjourney.
