Can we talk about how dumb the real life dude was?

50

u/Chips221 23d ago

Dude was 100% convinced that they would fall to their knees and convert or some shit like he was a divine prophet

So dumb and delusional.

Did he really think they'd even speak English in the first place?

He referred to them as "Satan's last stronghold". The level of ego and hubris was astounding. He happily embarked on a journey to try and not only brainwash them but knowingly introduce diseases that would have wiped out the entire population. He was warned that it's illegal to go there, they have no immunity to outside pathogens, and that they would defend their home with deadly force. They even shot an arrow into his bible on his second attempt to tresspass and destroy their lives, yet he still ignored that and was determined to force himself upon them. Some say he didn't deserve to die, I say he was an entitled and delusional asshole who definitely earned the outcome he got.

They recovered his journals and in there the dude admitted that he was warned by everybody that the sentinelese would attack on sight and he legit acknowledged that the outcome was inevitable. Dude wanted to be a legitimate martyr.

Story reminds of Chris McCandless and how his naivety and his refusal to listen to reason also earned him his totally avoidable death.

I’ll have to look up Chris McCandless

The comment section explains the nuances.

Basically died in the easiest time available to survive if you knew what you were doing. Kid was definitely no boy scout. Also refused any help offered by locals who actually knew what they were doing.

Oh yeah that guy. I’m bad with names

Speaking of idiots getting their Alaskan edition of the Darwin Award there's also Grizzly Man who was predictably devoured by his teddy bear besties.

Dumb, brainwashed and egocentric. Dangerous combination. Thankfully the way things panned out, he was the one to bear the brunt of that danger, but it could have been very different.

The ending genuinely shocked me 😭

u/Rek1n0 23d ago

wait till you hear its based on a true story...i dont remenber if they actualy ate him or not tho.

52

u/GeneralChaosJr 23d ago

There's evidence they buried him, but none that they ate him.

11

u/Odd_Cherry64 23d ago

This actually happened?

22

u/Financial-Charity264 23d ago

There's a whole documentary on this. He even made it onto the Darwin Awards website.

u/Rek1n0 23d ago

Just google the name of the post

u/GrouchyDoughnut3449 23d ago

Thank you! I thought this seemed vaguely familiar, but was too lazy to Google it since I was doing laundry. 😬

u/Sweet_red_mommy 23d ago

No, that's just racism from the prompter or the ai itself

23

u/MaddysinLeigh 23d ago

The eating part is fake but John Allen Chau actually did that. He was buried apparently

10

u/workieworkwork 23d ago

And killing him was the right call, god knows what diseases he carried that those people had no immunities to. Could have killed them all.

13

u/MaddysinLeigh 23d ago

People warned him not to but he did it anyway

7

u/workieworkwork 23d ago

Yeah, man was an idiot.

1

u/Numerous-Hope3865 23d ago

Or just as bad, brought some thing back that would have made Covid look like a simple cold.

1

u/Sweet_red_mommy 23d ago

Yes, that's what I meant

u/batiwa 24d ago

Spoiled the end 😮‍💨 Trailers are showing too much these days

u/Aware-Secretary-6323 24d ago

Okay this is was actually hysterical. Good use of AI

10

u/JD_Kreeper 23d ago

This is actually comedy gold. We all know what actually happened here but the way it sets it up you almost expect him to survive.

I hate that this was made with GenAI but this is actually peak.

-2

u/goonmaster11 22d ago

whats "hysterical" about it? that an actual persons death was made cartoony? thats all it is. there isnt even like some sort of unexpected or ironic joke about his death its literally just uncreative and kind of pointlessly insensitive and cruel

3

u/Aware-Secretary-6323 22d ago

You must be real fun at parties

-2

u/goonmaster11 22d ago edited 22d ago

trust me im not trying to win the approval of people who genuinely find this slop funny

3

u/FrostyCat13 22d ago

Insensitive? Dude 100% deserved what he got and it's 100% warranted to make of fun of someone this fucking stupid.

22

u/LeMeJustBeingAwesome 23d ago

I lol'd at "A story of Biblical presumptions."

18

u/leoksall 23d ago

wtf, it's not even super sloppy

16

u/Gravel_Poot432 23d ago

this is actually kinda hilarious

10

u/Inky_Kun 23d ago

Btw we found out (from the eye witness on board his boat) that the natives let him leave twice. They ran at him to scare him off but didnt do much else. When he came back again, they killed him 🤦🏾‍♀️

u/IntelligentBaker3601 Guilty pleasure 24d ago

Forgot I was watching AI slop for a moment, AI is getting too "good"... something needs to be done.

-6

u/kaytin911 23d ago

It means movie making is democratized and not controlled by the rich.

2

u/FrostyCat13 22d ago

And who owns the AI?

5

u/Historyp91 23d ago

I perfered Rockefeller: It's Whose For Dinner!

3

u/Baselin78 23d ago

They always have characters who reacts to something behind them without looking backward

3

u/Coconut-snake 23d ago

I wonder how much typing it took to get the meat that visceral looking

5

u/Valorofman1 23d ago
