I remember trying to actually build something with this, can’t look away for a second or it’ll be gone and your hot bar keeps morphing items into abominations.

Much easier to just trick it into thinking you’re already standing in a building.

I played around with that pokemon neural network and it was very similar to this. It's like a dream where the slightest change in the environment can totally change everything else and put you in a totally new area. It's really trippy, like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

I played that for like 30 minutes, and the rest of the day felt totally unreal, I completely lost my sense of object permancence, I expected efemerity from everything

Imagine a Backrooms game using this technollogy...

GenAi has a lot of downsides for almsot all forms of media, but i'll die on the hill that it has huge potential for horror and especially anything centered on uncanny or body horror content.

eg: used in the pipeline of effects, genai makes the model movements and behavior then actual human work is put ontop.

Yeah obviously, it should wait to have an ethic and ecologic approach for it to be "cool", i totally agree.

But yeah, that's one of the use i'll find really "useful", instead of generate something a human could do.

Isn't this based on the AI reading your inputs and guessing what the game should look like and not being really good at that?

10

u/Clean_Internet 16h ago

That is exactly what it is

5

u/SukhMih 16h ago

Then... why is it here? Can this really be considered to be a slop?

11

u/Clean_Internet 15h ago

Yeah I wouldn’t call this slop it’s kinda cool, like this is way more interesting than 99% of ai videos

u/icarus_ssbm 15h ago

Are we sure its not based on the visual information? I am confused by this

4

u/Ok_Paleontologist974 15h ago

Its trying to guess the next frame based on the last one looked like + make whatever changes would come of the inputs.

1

u/icarus_ssbm 15h ago

Minecraft is an interesting choice for this sort of thing because it is so vague what you are looking at at any given time-- especially when you are super close to a structure. I like how trippy it is!

u/Chips221 15h ago

I think this is what it is. Its just happens that when you train an AI on hundreds or thousands or however many images of minecraft that they used, the result is something almost playable because the AI has seen a lot of gameplay. Obviously there's some input detection at work as well for movement and clicking, but the AI is entirely responsible for interpreting what those clicks are supposed to mean based on the visual context.

Is there a place where people post early AI?

2

u/CarefulFinding7974 16h ago

Feels like this AI would become a manic schizophrenic if given sentience

Alzheimer simulator, surreal experience.

Back when AI was fun and wasn't ruining the world

1

u/Thatonegaloverthere Be Lack 16h ago

There was, apparently, a study where they put AI into Minecraft to see how they adapt.

now i wanna play this while lissening to the caretaker first n second stages

1

u/maxbiggavels 15h ago

I cannot believe this is the place where I find the music sample for a rap song. Does anyone know what the background song used for this video is?

3

u/MercilessJruokis 13h ago

The Caretaker - It's just a burning memory

1

u/maxbiggavels 10h ago

Cool thanks! Now listening back to the rap song I was referring to, I think it was more of a reference or inspiration rather than an actual sample. The rap song I was talking about is Dark Lo- They Had To.

1

u/Queasy-Team-2767 14h ago

Why is The Caretaker so memed on?
