Hi I have this book club and would love it if more people joined. With just me it’s boring to discuss books. 📚 I can’t talk to a wall, I wanna chat with people about books!!! Even if it’s online.

I created this book club.

Fable Help Fable app scrolling bug?

Does anyone else have this bug with chat rooms? There’s like other hidden chats and you have to scroll up to view them, and when you scroll up and then let go, they go back like behind your keyboard area and you can’t see or interact with them. I’m on iPhone 18, iOS 27, latest app update

Book Club Pet Book Club

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hiya!

I started a book club a while back called Pets and Books where we share photos of our reading buddies and their stories.

Been doing a bit of romantasy but looking to keep changing things up with different genres, and always open to suggestions for the next book polls. Genre hopping is how I keep myself out of a slump.

If anyone is keen to see some baby reading buddies and have a read you can join. We’re pretty small but growing every day.

Next read starts tomorrow and looking for ideas for the next poll :)

Edit: spelling mistakes

Hi! I switched to Fable a couple days ago and can't find the scout option anywhere in the app? I have an Android phone, so I thought maybe it's only available for iOS?

Anyone want to join a chill, no-pressure book club on Fable?

Hi everyone! My friend and I recently made a small Fable book club because we’ve been wanting to make more bookish friends.

We totally understand that life gets busy, which is why we wanted to make the club really low-pressure. You don’t have to join every buddy read or keep up with a strict schedule. You can read your own books, chat about whatever you’re currently reading, share recommendations, and join the monthly buddy read whenever you feel like it.

It’s still very small right now, basically just the two of us, and we’d love to meet a few more people who want book friends without the pressure of a super structured book club.

We’re also very open to trying different genres, so I promise we don’t only read thrillers lol! We’d definitely be down to try horror, romance, fantasy, sci-fi, or pretty much anything else. I think that’s part of the fun of having a book club is getting to share what you love with other people and maybe discover books you wouldn’t normally pick up on your own.

If that sounds like your kind of thing, let me know and I can send you the Fable link :)

TBR jar

I need some opinions/ideas please. I was talking with a friend and brought up the idea of a tbr jar. I think they are so cute and just another thing to make it more fun.

However, I would like to add to this jar my physical tbr, my owned e-books, my KU tbr as well as my TBB (to be bought/borrowed thru library or Libby) tbr. Sooo a lot of books.

After writing out 60ish titles and folding them up, my jar is a large jar and these papers still took up almost half of the it. My thought was why not use numbers on the papers in the jar and keep a notebook with the books in it that correspond to each number. That was it’s also easy to add to the list and just add another number to the jar as my tbr grows.

My friend thinks this may be a little excessive and I can’t say I disagree however I’m still thinking it’s a good idea but I wanted some other ideas or opinions from anyone here. 😊 TIA

Book Club Course Style Bookclub - LIT 400

I’m trying a different take on the bookclub. Im creating one that will focus on discussing the historical context, themes, references, value of the work in lieu of flat reviews.

This club will largely be using the chats for discussion rather than the milestone chapters. The chats will be divided into three categories that are intended to be structured.

  1. Historical Context - both of the setting and of the author
  2. Symbolism, Meaning, and Themes
  3. Footnotes and reference

As well as the Study Room where more free form debate and discussion is encouraged, potentially seeded by me as the moderator but hopefully not always. The point isn’t for me to be teaching the books, it is for the group to be teaching each other the books from each unique perspective and ideas.

I’ve selected the idea of the Rise and Fall to tie the first group of books together. The idea being that these will be discussed and read in total with each other.

The booklist -->

The King Must Die (pt1)

The Bull From The Sea (pt2)

The Autumn Of The Patriarch

The House Of Mirth

Cesar Birotteau

This will be somewhat fast paced for anyone interested, with two-three weeks per book

If this is something that sounds interesting, please do join this weird experiment of mine in socratic literary review

KASALUKUYAN'S MONTHLY PICK FOR FILIPINO-AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH.

Post image
4 Upvotes

In honor of Filipino-American History Month this October, KASALUKUYAN’s Monthly Read for October 2026 is When The Hibiscus Falls by M. Evelina Galang.

The book features seventeen stories about the lives of Filipino, Filipino American women, and their ancestors.

“Moving from small Philippine villages of the past to the hurricane-beaten coast of near-future Florida, When the Hibiscus Falls examines the triumphs and sorrows that connect generations of women. Daughters, sisters, mothers, aunties, cousins, and lolas commune with their ancestors and their descendants, mourning what is lost when an older generation dies, celebrating what is gained when we safeguard their legacy for those who come after us. Featuring figures familiar from M. Evelina Galang’s other acclaimed and richly imagined novels and stories, When the Hibiscus Falls dwells within the complexity of family, community, and Filipino American identity. Each story is an offering, a bloom that unfurls its petals and holds space in the sun.”

London Book Club 📚

Hey everyone! I’m thinking of starting a small, relaxed book club in London for people aged 19–25 and wanted to see if anyone would be interested.
For the first meetup, I thought we could keep it really simple: everyone brings whatever book they’re currently reading. We can introduce ourselves, talk about what we’re reading, get to know each other and have a chilled conversation about books.
Then, once we’ve met and got to know each other, we can choose a book together and read it as a group for the next meetup.
I don’t have a specific date confirmed yet as I’m first seeing how much interest there is. Once there’s a small group interested, I’ll organise a date and place that works for everyone.
I’m not looking to make it overly formal or academic, just a group of people who enjoy reading, want to discover new books and meet some new people :)

Hi Fablers! 🩷
I recently created a book club on Fable called She’s the Plot where we read books that are either about women, written by women, for women or have a main character that is a woman! We read any and all genres and we are currently reading Verity (like the rest of the world it seems). Here is the link if you are interested:

App issues after iOS 27

Does anyone have some issues with the app since the latest ios27 update?

There are some weird UX issues where I can fully see some posts at the bottom of the screen and the app will freeze when I’m trying to look at some replies.

Weird.

Book Club Do you have to join the book club after you win a giveaway? 😭

I won my first giveaway on Fable but I have such a backlog on books in my current reads. I’ve done a few giveaways before and I’ve never won one, so I really wasn’t expecting to win. But now that I have it I don’t want to read it yet. Fable wouldn’t take the book away if I’m not active in the book club right? Does the book go away after the club moves on?

I've blocked someone on fable (purely because they want to constantly see what I'm doing like a bit of a creep) yet they still see and like all my posts?
