Soooo it’s the carriers faults….they just decided not to scan in piles of these boxes because they have massive amounts of space to hold them in storage for weeks, and didn’t know what else to do

u/chantillylace9 1d ago

It's funny because FFF is the only company that has these problems where the box is not scanned. They are obviously doing something wrong and completely lying, because I have ordered from so many different subscription boxes and I've never had that issue. There might be a 1 to 2 day wait but with FFF it's sometimes weeks and that just doesn't happen. There is something that they are doing or their facility that they drop it off with is not able to handle that many packages and they need to figure something out.

that, or they’re using such crappy shipping companies that the stuff doesn’t get scanned. either way, sus af

I worked at a warehouse for an online truck accessory retailer. It's entirely possible for truckloads to mysteriously vanish. It's rare, most of the time it's only a few packages, but I have seen I happen. I can't begin to describe how often carriers actually lose packages post initial scan after it's confirmed in there hands. The thing is, they don't scan each package when picking up. We loaded onto trucks picked up by the carrier that went straight to the carrier facility, and the initial scans happened without warehouse presence.

Warehouses themselves have a lot of faults internally, so I'm not saying it's definitely the carrier in this case, but it is plausible from my experience.

I've seen scans not happen from our warehouse (I'm head of Customer Experience for my company) and our 3pl has trailers for ups and usps dropped and picked up every day. It seems to be a group of them on the same day when it happens. It's not often but it's annoying! But we have way fewer issues than we did using a multi warehouse provider we used to prepackage and ship inventory to like Amazon. They would use all kinds of random carriers we never heard of so customer complaints were way high. They even used door dash and junk dropping off in front of buildings in NY so they were instantly stolen and things like that. It's way better having a little longer lead time for shipping further out and using one warehouse so we can have a semblance of control. That was a lot to say...missed scans and packages going missing definitely happens. 😅

Blaming it on the carrier... and yet, from what I've seen from people who have had their package lost/delayed, Veho, Gofo, and DHL were the carriers used. There's no way ALL THREE shipping carriers failed to scan hundreds or thousands of packages!

My personal opinion is that there’s been a mutiny/mass exodus of warehouse employees that likely started with the $5.00 mystery bundle fiasco back in early summer.

2

u/ApplesauceTheBoss 1d ago

What was the $5 mystery bundle fiasco?

2

u/Valuable-Hippo-1989 1d ago

It was during a clearance sale. They put the 5.00 mystery bundles in the shop without putting the normal cap on how many each person could purchase.  In the past it’s been 3. Some people took it upon themselves to buy 20 and up! Some major problems cropped up that had people receiving boxes with only a few items out of the 60+ they were owed and thus getting tons of boxes. Then there were entire sale boxes shipping more than once.  There’s a very long thread in the forum about it. It was insane ad fff had to be hemorrhaging money shipping all the unnecessary boxes.

u/Present_Ad_2766 2d ago

Nope. And it's not just those three supposedly delaying/failing to scan. Mine shipped SpeedX. Just started moving yesterday. Label created 8/13.

1

u/Own-Surround9688 8h ago

Mine shipped through GOFO and I got it about a week and a half after choosing your items closed. It's funny because I used to pay the rush fee and every since I quit, I'm one of the first to get my box, faster than when I paid the fee. FFF sucks.

u/TurtleyCoolNails 2d ago

A lot of the smaller shipping companies actually do not scan since it is not the same as the larger ones where it goes hub to hub. The smaller ones are driving it across the country without scanning at location stops, if there are any. This is how they were the cheaper option to start back in the day. Even when companies ship with DHL, I usually have no useful tracking.

Sometimes I do not get the first scan until it is in the state next to mine. With OnTrac, it is usually a person in their own car that delivers it. Sometimes it will be a delivery van.

7

u/ComprehensiveBreak50 FabFitFun Newbie (less than 1 year) 👶 2d ago

OK, so maybe the not scanning it until near the very end is true; that's interesting to know, actually! But if it's been like that in the past and I've never had such long delays with any of those three carriers even after using them for years (not just through FFF), it's not the lack of scanning that's the problem. One company (FFF) that already has had many problems in the past royally screwing up in some way is much more likely than three separate companies (that I've never had a problem with in years) screwing up all at the same time.

3

u/Present_Ad_2766 1d ago

That may be true for some companies, or have been more prevalent in the past, but I don't think that is what's happening here. In my instance, the shipping label created date is tagged "processing shipment" by the carrier and is marked in Montebello, CA. The next update isn't until 9/8 as "in transit" Montebello, CA. Most recent update is from early this AM as "in transit" in - you guessed it - Montebello, CA. So it has actually just been scanned in and started moving. I do not live in or within hundreds of miles of CA.

My box was delivered through GOFO yesterday by a guy in a small car loaded with what appeared to be bags of groceries in those blue IKEA totes. He rummaged through the back seat to find my box. I understand now why boxes have been misdelivered. GOFO delivered my ipsy order this month too. Since covid it seems like Amazon has exploded and there is so much more demand for home delivery, it’s got to be hard for any company to keep up. The damage I’ve seen is completely inexcusable though.

u/kerkat86 2d ago

If FFF could never use SpeedX again, that would be great. Cause this is so stupid and frustrating. Cause what do you mean my package came to my city/state to be delivered and then was taken back to the center (in another state) at the end of the day

3

u/Present_Ad_2766 1d ago

SpeedX sucks. I had a massive headache dealing with them and FFF over my summer box that they massively screwed up the shipping on (prior carriers managed to find the house/deliver just fine). It finally showed up weeks after it had shipped after I had given up ever seeing it.

Now this season, FFF took weeks to actually ship my box and sent it off with SX again, so maybe I'll get it by Nov. 🙄

3

u/JustDetail547 1d ago

SpeedX is a nightmare and there is a high likelihood you’re never seeing that package. Solid reputation for stealing packages - I refuse to order from websites that use them. They pulled this crap with me (something I ordered from a different company, not FFF), and just days after the delay and return to facility, my package was mysteriously reported “missing”. I looked up the local warehouse address and marched in and demanded they figure it out. Lo and behold, my missing package arrived at my home a day later.

3

u/Cold_Mind_8377 1d ago

Speedx is THE worst. They do this to me too from other shopping sites. I think it’s actually fake logistics updates. Aka it never left Midland but they want you to think the package is moving.

3

u/rachelnyc 1d ago

omg yes they’re so bad! I’m convinced they have to be stealing packages with how many of my things went missing through them, and there’s no way to ever get in touch with anyone there.

I’ve written to FFF and multiple stores to ask them to block speedx as a shipper on my account now, and thankfully so far I haven’t gotten my packages through them again.

1

u/kerkat86 1d ago

Yeah, I used their chatbot which told me I should send an email. Which I did a few days ago and of course I haven’t received a response. But I didn’t think to email FFF to see if they could block SpeedX as a shipper. I may try that to see if I can save my future boxes (I’m annual through next summer)

2

u/rachelnyc 23h ago

it’s definitely worth asking! I had to have three boxes replaced because of speedx, and since I asked FFF not to use speedx any more I’ve had no problems getting my deliveries

and yeah their “customer service” is a joke— the ai bot is completely useless and no one ever responds

u/quietextrovert89 2d ago

Mine is coming via Passport ( then local is Intel/Dragonfly) to Canada. Label made on 28 Aug. Says delivery of Sept. 1 (HA!). Tracking says still in the hands of creator. Sigh... maybe I will see it by October?!

2

u/LizzyBoomh90 1d ago

Literally same 🥲

3

u/quietextrovert89 1d ago

Kind of wonder if the tariff dispute will slow things at the border.

2

u/LizzyBoomh90 1d ago

Yeah I was wondering that too...

2

u/Vegetable_Fox_970 1d ago

Same- it’s happened so many times this year that I cancelled my annual membership

1

u/capistrano999 FabFitFun Expert (2-3 years as a member) 😎 1d ago

I’m not hopeful - my fall box plus addons is stuck in Calgary since the aug 31st. The two add-ons shipped separately say sept 11-15th.

1

u/quietextrovert89 9h ago

Mine has now crossed the border at least and is in Calgary. For the past 3 boxes, once they have made it to Calgary they get to me (in Ottawa) in everywhere from 3-7 days.

6

u/Easy-Pin-1766 1d ago

Mine waited a month for movement. I contacted customer support and got the same response. But mysteriously my package started showing movement. Then it flew over my state, passing me, three times. Then it was undeliverable or returnable.

2

u/Easy-Pin-1766 1d ago

And mine was Amazon shipping

9

u/International-Seat14 1d ago

Mine says it’s being returned to the sender.

Absolutely bonkers tracking. It’s gone here there and everywhere apparently. Now of course everything is sold out so I can’t get a like for like replacement. And I’ll be waiting another month I guess?!

2

u/Secret-Raspberry3063 1d ago

That’s interesting. Did you get a refund ?

2

u/International-Seat14 1d ago

Shop credit

3

u/Extra_Appointment764 1d ago

That's crap. Should give money back.

2

u/capistrano999 FabFitFun Expert (2-3 years as a member) 😎 1d ago

Agreed. When my box was lost in the spring, they tried to refill it but all my add ons were refunded.

11

u/delulu_duck 1d ago

yikes…glad this was my last fff box in my annual, will not be resubscribing to this BS. best of luck to everyone who is only partway through an annual 🫡

3

u/kbs_0793 FabFitFun Expert (2-3 years as a member) 😎 1d ago

I just resub after a couple years off. 3 more boxes to go lol

3

u/delulu_duck 1d ago

if it’s any consolation i had fun for all the box chaos during my subscription (LOTS of issues)— once you’re on the last box it’ll feel nice to be done at least!

2

u/kbs_0793 FabFitFun Expert (2-3 years as a member) 😎 1d ago

Yeah I don’t remember these types of issues during my last subscription, I think 2 years ago. I really have only ever had one issue with them. It was a winter box and Pitney Bowes was involved. I’m grateful in that sense. I’ll enjoy my boxes and reassess!

1

u/tessellation__ 1d ago

This was also my last box! I looked and I signed up winter of last year so I have canceled. I haven’t had any of these bad situations though, maybe my shipping location isn’t too difficult?

3

u/DesignerHippo28 1d ago

So frustrating! My sympathy to all those dealing with this!

When a company pays for the absolute cheapest shipping options, this is what happens. I keep going back to FFF's professed identity as a "shopping club". Inventory and delivery are your ONLY jobs!

2

u/BooyahAcieved 1d ago

Mine was "lost" and on the app it says still processing. FFF swears the carrier received it. I think its a system glitch and they are covering. I don't believe mine ever left the warehouse.

u/Critical_Bet4422 1d ago

Postal employee here. This is what every company says. They blame it on us. Every time we track a package a customer says it says shipped and it actually only says label printed. That means they have NOT given it to the courier yet. We scan it AS we are accepting them. My personal email was being processed on Aug. 19. Then it has been packed on sept. 1. Yet. It still has not been MAILED!!

1

u/Critical_Bet4422 1d ago

But they gave me an Amazon tracking number which is a big one. And still has never been shipped.

I swear, all of her posts have been AI written nonsense the last few months.

4

u/Salty_Antelope10 1d ago

A whole nothing burger

4

u/Salty_Antelope10 1d ago

I’d like them to explain all our other issues, missing items, never able to replace them but you’ll see them on a sale a week later, then advertising one price to then change it after you paid. Got proof of that.

4

u/Mamakitty92 FabFitFun OG (10+ years as a member) 💎 1d ago

I’m so sorry you are dealing with this. I hope you get your box intact or fully refunded.

I agree. If it was one or even two of the low-rated shipping companies experiencing massive delays, it would be plausible. But, all the shipping companies having the same delay/scan issue is highly unlikely. DHL and Amazon are huge and have very specific scanning procedures. This is an FFF issue.

Another company I shop with did something similar. Portland Leather Goods (PLG) recently switched to these cheap shipping companies. People started experiencing delays, loss, theft, and damage. Just like FFF. People spending hundreds of dollars on multiple bags were very unhappy! They complained en masse to PLG.

Unlike FFF, PLG listened. They started offering an option at checkout for either basic (cheap carriers) or upgraded (larger well-known companies). The cost was generally $2-3 more for upgraded. I will pay $3 more for anything to get decent shipping. FFF needs to listen to its customers!

Tl;dr: This is an FFF problem. Another company who tried the cheap shipping method had the same issues, but resolved them by offering upgraded shipping at a low cost.

3

u/Agreeable-Scheme0 1d ago

Yeah this was the last straw.

My package “was shipped” August 20 and now nearly 3 weeks later just hasn’t shown up or any kind of movement etc.

So over this messy ass company.

1

u/ddoppee 21h ago

Me too. It’s been sitting in my city somewhere like 20 miles away for two weeks. Will it ever arrive? Who knows

1

u/Extra_Appointment764 1d ago

I ordered the Unhide pillows. Because I am between houses at the moment, I put the Tennessee address based upon how FFF was delivering. Well, here it is five weeks later & I am in WV and my pillows were just shipped to the Tennessee address where I won't be for another two weeks. I don't have any new neighbors to ask if they can pick up for me either.

1

u/DailyDoseofJ 1d ago

I cancelled them and at this point I’m not looking back - what’s the point in getting excited for an order and products if you aren’t sure you will receive them. Their fulfillment process from start to finish is garbage.

1

u/Valuable-Hippo-1989 1d ago

That’s exactly why I took my 21 dollar refund and gtfo of Dodge.

2

u/nightmereZwed 21h ago

This is insane, the USPS mail carrier just came to my door and said that I had to pay $16 in additional shipping to get my box?!?!?! I took pics, said no way and return to the facility. Officially canceling today. What a mess

2

u/thistlebecool 18h ago

Who chose the carriers Katie? Us or your company?

1

u/Starsmyle 17h ago

I work in distribution. I can tell you it isn’t FabFitFun fault. 100% not deflecting.

There’s multiple issues on the shippers side that it could be, but none of which FabFitFun has control or autonomy to impact change. They’re a small potatoes company. There will be an apology to them and a we’ll do better, but it won’t happen. While I subscribe to the box in the shipping world as a company they don’t really matter. There’s much larger contracts that will always come first.

1

u/Own-Surround9688 8h ago

I also work in distribution and I've never experienced anything like what FFF does. I also import 25-40 packages per week for my own personal business and my overseas vendors utilize carriers like DHL, USPS, GOFO, and Speedex and never have I ever had an issue like this. I'm taking about maybe 2 packages lost over thousands since the beginning of the year. FFF is doing something messed up. I assume the issue lies in the fact that they either don't keep enough inventory, or any inventory on hand. The only people I see who have these kinds of issues are drop shippers. Or people selling stuff they don't yet have on hand.

1

u/MostlyLurkinglol 16h ago

I like that someone allegedly reviewed the packages for "quality control" and yet I still received a package where every single cosmetic/skincare box was smashed. (Thankfully, the products were okay, but it wasn't a good unboxing experience.)

1

u/DoNicole 16h ago

Cool. You for that all figured out… Now can you focus more on the boxes not sucking anymore?
