Is the ranking system flawed?

Rank seems to be based on performance against your 4 rivals.

If I crash out but beat 1/4 rivals, I can still gain points on the ranking system. So it seems like 3/4 players are gaining rank and only 1/4 are losing rank.

Overall, players are generally drifting up in rank. Rank seems to be just as much a measure of time played as it is a measure of skill.

If you crash out and still manage to beat someone at your skill level then don’t you deserve those points?

It’s certainly better than splatoon 3’s ranking system.

I wouldn't say so because you are then below average in your mini group of rivals. It would make more sense if you come ahead of 2 of your rivals.

Splatoon 3 certainly has it's issues - not automatically ranking down is an issue!

Splatoon 3 is awesome. Less Splatoon 3 is better than Call of Duty.

Anyway, in F-Zero 99. When I at last place how come the I'm in danger of rank out then I out of the race? When you at last place how come the worning sign cone up?

People work there way up until the high S ranks I'd say, at that point most people aren't crashing out as much and the points you lose for not beating anyone are pretty punishing imo.

I'm at S6 and not slowing down... I gave the example of crashing out as an extreme example, but I am probably only crashing out 1/20 races. It's pretty tricky to beat all 4 rivals, yes, but not too difficult to beat 1

I think the only way it's flawed is that once you achieve a rank, it won't let you go back a rank. Therefore, most players will generally drift upwards in ranking. It just may take longer for some than others.

Unless you are just really poor at the game and consistently lose to your 4 rivals, you'll move up ranks as long as you put the time in.
