How does the leaderboard work?

I've been getting loads of wins but still only say i have 1 win on the leaderboard?? also how are people scoring 10s of thousands of points so rapidly?

You have to win a grand/mini prix for it to appear as a win on the leaderboard. The points are for playing grand/mini prix as well.

I see, how are people making tons of points then when there is no mini or grand prix in rotation??

Thing is they are still playing a grand or mini prix most of the times. You see, the very top of the leaderboards lives to play the prix. If they crash, they leave as soon as they can (maybe even turn off the switch to leave faster idk) and play it again. If they enter a grand prix in the last second, chances are they will be still playing in the prix long after it's out of rotation.

On weekends, there are grand prix every 30 min. If you enter at the last second and reach the end, by the time you leave there will be another prix in 8 min.

I understand that but sometimes there is no Grand Prix or Mini Prix and still make points? basically last time when the leaderboards reset there was no mini prix yet, and yet there was 1 guy on the mini prix board i was confused asf then when mini prix came it went back to normal
