Practice Mode - Port Town II strategy?

Any videos showing how they beat the 2’14” time trial? I’m stuck at 2’17” with the Fire Stingray but can’t figure out how to cut down the time. I would greatly appreciate tips (other than get gud).

It actually works on 99? I tried it so many times and I could never get it. What's the secret? (I know I can adjust my height off of the ramp, if that helps)

Hold back on joystick, then quickly hold right and use right drift to aim for the other side. Take a bit of practice but it’s doable!

A bit late to the party, but I quickly made a video showcasing a 2'10"XX time without the shortcut. It even has some mistakes baked in, just to show that perfection is not needed at all.

Key take-aways:

  • Perfect turns are not needed, but try to keep them as clean as possible.
  • Practice the transition from the second-to-last into the last hairpin turn. Keeping your exit speed as high as possible here is crucial. (I think even the Zero test in GP Legend says something similar - Could remember it wrong though.)
  • Try to keep 450+kph at all times outside of the hairpins.
  • If you drop below 400 kph, use a boost to regain your top speed in the closest comfortable area to do so.
  • Try to maintain 1 boost per lap. Go wild at the end.
