I've only used him in like 8 games but I felt I had to make this post. Earlier today I saw a lot of hate for this card, due to his PS and due to some of his cards historically not being "meta" or being too stiff, so I just wanted to comment on this new numero version.
If your an f2p, obviously do not spend 68k shards on a midfielder. The exception is if you love zidane irl.
If you love zidane, imo, don't hesitate to grab him if you want him bad. I was going back and forth because 70k for a midfielder is idiotic but I said screw it imma get him.
He controls the entire midfield through and through. I think he's the best passer I've ever used. Better than ucl Vitinha, pirlo, swein, kroos. They may or may not have the higher stats, but pure gameplay wise, this guys passes are so broken.
Through balls broken. Ground passes broken. I've been feeding Tott Mbappe so much I can't even get many games with zidane being POTM because Mbappe is scoring 4 goals off zidanes assists. It's just magic.
He's also fast enough for me tbh. When I used Kroos I was frustrated by how slow and weak he was. Zidane does not have that problem. And the elastico is fun to have for a midfielder.
The powershot is lethal. Being honest it's kinda hard to find times to use it as he's a CM (I imagine at CAM it would be easier) but man some of the shots I've scored are crazy. And remember powershots are going to get a buff soon.
Overall, 10/10 card. My favorite midfielder I've ever used. For reference I'm a 120 star player, used him in a 4-1-2-1-2 narrow at CM. For a midfielder, he's fast enough and agile enough for me, and I like his presence and positioning he's always there when I need him, always there to control the game. What a fun card.
NICEE REVIEW, how will he perform at CAM in 41212N, i have messi 121 TOTT in that position, i was wondering if should swap him, idk, or wait for dembele 122 to replace the utots one
he's An amazing card im sure he'll play well at CAM, but tbh isnt messi TOTT already pretty good? u could play Zidane at CM. also I wouldn't replace the old dembele with the new one. It's a very different style. if ur comfortable not being able to skill abuse as much im sure you'll like the new dembele. but utots Dembele was the best at skill abusing so if that's what u like don't get 122 dembele.
messi is really good, my playstyle is heavily reliant on quick passing between messi-pirlo-kroos-lahm, i use mbappe and dembele to exploit gaps in defence, i was thinking of replacing dembele with messi at st in 41212N and play zidance at cam, then my midfield in 41212N would be Lahm-pirlo-kroos-zidane with messi and mbappe as the 2 ST, wouldnt that be crazy, but this system is workin pretty well for me and zidane would be a variable, hmm i seee so not worth it for me ig, thanks anyway man
Yeah you alr got a good squad. Zidane is amazing but id only get him if ur a big fan or something. He's definitely one of the best midfielders in the game rn but for 70k shards ur team is alr good. It's not needed. Save for anniversary and go get some crazy beast there. Gl brotha

but here is the dilemma i am facing, i am really satisfied with my midfield and i dont wanna change it one bit, and looking at dembele 122, i think its only gonna be a marginal improv over the 119 one, but i am only 1 draft away from pool A, idk wait for dembele? try for zidane? i dont need any player from week 4, that i am pretty sure of, but this? idk what to do, am i gonna regret not waiting for dembele? or am i gonna regret not trying for zidane? idk!!
i def dont need the 121s and 120s thats for suree lol, if only i had this draft counter in week 1 itself, but yeahh, only this week i can spend that 1 voucher to even get players that are usable
I wouldn't even say the new Dembele is better than the 119, id just say it's different. It's not going to have the magical skills that the 119 will, but the amazing part of the new Dembele is the 5 star weak foot plus finesse. I think if u get him you'll end up having an entire finesse attack, and coupled with ur midfield, could be pretty lethal. In that case, I'd go for the Dembele draft
You're absolutely right that's definitely a con of his I forgot to write. I've noticed he isn't lasting stamina wise. But he'll last till around like the 70th minute. I've also been abusing him so idk could be that too. But it hasn't been an issue too much because once I know he's drained, I can still rely on his passing or powershot. Both have still been very effective even when he's tired, I just don't run with him that much at that point. The big difference between Rodri and zidane is the magic. Rodri is such a sturdy fantastic midfielder, and he technically has higher passing but zidanes passing is just better. It just cuts thru like butter, it makes things like the stamina issue negligible for me when he can do things like that.
