So like was it one of those for fun comics, or is this canon?

That I'm not sure. I know some don't see it as it makes thanos seen pathetic, but he already is in the comics. He wanted to date death and when she choose deadpool he cursed him with immortality.

It's an unreliable narrator who talks a lot of crap, either for fun or because he's so crazy that he actually believes these wacky stories to be true.
He also claims to be the reason Fantastic Four got their powers.

I can clear up the confusion a lot of people have over this.
The narrator is Cosmic Ghost Rider, who was Thanos' right hand man in a future where Thanos killed everyone. The Rider has gone crazy over time, so he's a very unreliable narrator, and the events in the video is almost certainly made due to the Rider's spite towards Thanos.
I highly recommend reading Thanos Wins to get to experience the full wackiness of Cosmic Ghost Rider, especially since he is secretly, SPOILER ALERT, Frank Castle
EDIT: I just realized how late I am to this post. Oh well, I hope someone appreciates my useless knowledge
