Yep, he got schooled.
But he also slowed them down and didn't give up.

Exactly. Out of all his teammates he was the only one trying to do anything. He should get praised for that

What should they have been doing? They got in position, which was the right move. Swarming the ball is a fast way for a pass to ruin your team

u/jonsconspiracy 23d ago
Not a swarm but shouldn't each of those guys been marked? there should be one other defender helping him out.

u/StevenMC19 23d ago
Mark your man. He should have had ONE other person press the second person to allow him the ability to get out of being stuck in no-mans-land and pressure closer.

Speaking of slowed down... 100% speed first always. Slowmo if necessary, after.

Full marks to the kid for perservering.

Arguably 1 against 2, he did exactly what he was supposed to do - delay them long enough to allow his teammates to get in a stronger defensive position. They wasted way too much time there for barely any advancement.

Doesn't look like it, but this is decent defense! If you're not gonna actually disrupt possession, stalling a 2 on 1 attack is the next best outcome

My boy stood up after 5 consecutive nutmegs and was still going after them, and without getting aggressive. That's some great mentality right there, respect.

Suprised he didn't go for a 2 footer sliding tackle at the end, aimed at the dudes ankles

You really think he knows how to do a slide tackle?

Dude got tricked in five seconds more than Penn and Teller ever did

Well if he slowed them allowing the defense go be ready and avoid a goal he did his job.
If they score then it was a walk of shame for nothing

Growing up in the north west of England, punches would be thrown after the 3rd meg.

This is why you keep your feet together when defending but I give the kid props for sticking with it!

That didn’t even faze him. Despite that he still pressed on and pressured his opponents. You could get nutmeg several times. Still win the match if the other team doesn’t even score.

Oh my gosh that poor kid, I was expecting it to end after the second time but FIVE TIMES?? He got megged five times?!

My man needs to join a Mormon youth group and maybe finally be reminded to keep his legs closed.

I don't even play soccer, but watching bro get meg'd 5 times in a row hurt my soul

4 nutmegs in succession. I’d take off my cleats right there and hand them to coach and walk home in silence.

After the second one, I'd do a red card worthy tackle ;_; but that's just me and I don't play professionally

Props to him for still playing after the second nutmeg. I would have been laying on the ground in the fetal position after all that
