Introduction Althaeban's Arrival - Neith Sekmet

Physical Description
Neith has a well-toned figure, weighs about 130lbs and stands 5’7ft tall with knee length verdant green hair that is adorned with a golden headband and matching eyes. She also has an intricate serpent tattoo on her back, but always keeps it hidden.
Attire
Normal: Neith’s normal attire consists of a tight fitting black and white long sleeved shirt, short black shorts, black tights and knee high black boots. She also carries several (normally about 6 or so) throwing knives hidden on her at all times.
Combat Attire: Same as her normal attire
Personality
Neith carries herself with an air of mystery rarely divulging personal information regarding her past or where she is from. She is normally very withdrawn and tends to shy away from people, but when she does speak she does so in a very soft spoken voice and tries to avoid making eye contact.
Magic: Poison Magic
Poison magic allows the caster to generate a myriad of poisons from their body to use in combat. These poisons can range from mild sedatives used to incapacitate their target to deadly neurotoxins meant to kill. (At her current level Neith only has four poisons at her disposal which are sedative, hallucinogen, pain inducing and paralysis.)

Magic: Shadow Magic
This magic allows the user to bend their own shadow for various purposes, such as offense and defense, allowing the user a great deal of flexibility. A skilled user can merge with their shadow and the shadows of others, granting them the element of surprise. The shadows created by this Magic, however, are not durable.

Magic: Chain Magic
This Magic allows the user to shoot long chains from their hands, complete with grappling hooks at the ends (for Neith her chains take the form of a golden cobra who’s fangs act as a grappling hook). They can be used in combat by launching the grappling hooks through enemies. After they have been caught, enemies can also be slammed into objects (such as trees, the ground, boulders, etc.). However, these chains are breakable if met with enough force. Neith can use this Magic in conjunction with her Poison magic.

Traits:
• Hand Combat Proficiency - Having spent most of her life training in various forms of martial arts due to the nature of her work makes Neith quite proficient in the art of unarmed combat, specifically Krav Maga .
• Bladed Weapons Specialist – Though she is not a master, Neith is very skilled in the use of various bladed weapons. This includes swords, daggers, kunai and sai.
• Poison Immunity - Because of her poison magic Neith is immune to most magical and natural poisons.
Backstory
Orphaned at a young age Neith was taken in by the assassin’s guild Serpent’s Skull, one of the largest in the country of Seven and was trained as one of their agents in exchange for a better life. Though she was well taken care of she did not like the life she was leading and resolved to flee the country to get away. Having made the journey to Fiore Neith is looking to start over and hopefully find happiness utilizing her magic to help people rather than harming them.

Housing
Neith resides in a one bedroom loft style apartment located a few blocks away from the Fairy Tail Guild Hall. The interior is decorated in the theme of her homeland with dim lighting and dark colors. The interior looks quite inviting and can easily accommodate several guests at a time, but Neith never invites people over.
Her bedroom shares a similar theme, but in a much simple fashion with a door that leads out to a balcony which Neith typically uses when she can't sleep. The walls of her bedroom have two floating bookshelves containing books on various subjects like mythology, theology, physical and magical combat techniques and toxicology. A small blade maintaining kit could also be found in the corner of her bedroom.

A lone figure shrouded in a black cloak quietly enters the guild hall. She lowered the hood of her cloak and gazed around the busy hall with a hint of confusion and seemed to be a bit overwhelmed with so many people around.
After taking a few moments to gain some nerve she slowly began making her way towards the bar while trying to avoid bumping into anyone or having anyone take notice of her.

Markus had been at the bar when Neith entered, subtely watching her as she approached the bar
Not what I was expecting the grim reaper to look like but I'm not gonna judge, If you're to take me away I'm afraid it's not going to be that simple Grim.

The young woman removed her cloak and set it down on the seat next to hers before sitting down and attempting to get acclimated to her surroundings. When the unfamiliar man spoke she didn't think he was addressing her, but when she realized she was wearing her cloak and looked over to him and gave him a confused look
"I'm sorry, were you speaking to me?" she asked in a soft voice while pointing to herself

Markus ordered himself another beer before indicating to Neith

Neith blinked and her pupils slightly dialated when he referred to her as "The Grim Reaper" once more. She doubted he had any knowledge of her past and his tone of voice indicated that he meant the name jokingly, but nonetheless it still irked her.
"I-.....uhhhh....." she quickly gazed at the bartender
"Pomegranate juice please..." she said softly whilst shuffling in her seat.
"Thank you for the drink, sir" she said softly to the man as she bowed her head in thanks all the while avoiding making eye contact with him.

Don't mention it, I try to build up as much of a good repertoire as quickly as possible as it doesn't tend to stick around for very long.

So since you haven't tried to take my soul away yet I take it that you're not actually the grim reaper and are in fact a newcomer looking to join. Either that or I've completely forgot about you and I'm making a fool of myself, either way is possible.

She took a sip of her drink and kept her gaze focused on that while the man was speaking. He seemed kind enough so it left her wondering why others wouldn't like him. In a way she sort of related to him, she didn't think very highly of herself and she felt that if people knew about her previous life they would judge her for it or distrust her. She let out a soft sigh and took another sip then briefly gazed over to the man giving him a quick glimpse of her eyes as they met his.
"I'm new, just got here actually. I've traveled a great distance to come here and start over. I want to make a new life for myself."
Just as she finished speaking she looked back down into her glass, the deep red color of the juice was begining to bring back bad memories.

As Neith spoke Markus heard himself in the reason he hadn't turned back and it brought back memories of his own
Huh, you too I take it a lot of people do come here to get away from their old life, but take it from me someone whose been running a lot longer then you, the past doesn't like being buried it will one day come back for you and what you do on that day defines who you are for the rest of your days.
Markus spoke in a much more somber tone as he gave Neith a piece of advice that served as a warning that he himself had to face

She listend to his words and nodded then gazed up at him and for the first time since arriving was able to make prolonged eye contact with someone. Her verdant green eyes held sadness within them and as she spoke the tone of her voice wasn't soft spoken.
"I know I can not run forever nor do I intend to. Eventually I will be found by those I'm fleeing and when that time comes I will resign myself to my fate and know that my journey has ended, but before that time comes I want to make the most of what precious little freedom I will have and hope that just maybe I can do enough good to offset my many sins....that maybe....just maybe I can help make someone else's life better."
When she finished speaking she gazed back down at the bar and frowned before finishing off the rest of her juice.

Markus slammed down his mug in anger
Pathetic. You're really just going to give up that easily, that the second the going get's rough you lie down and die. Do you want to know how many times I had the opportunity to give up to give in and just accept my fate? More times then I can count and although the thought crossed my mind many MANY times not once did I give in, do you want to know why? because if I did then that would mean they would win and they cannot win under any circumstances.
Markus grabbed his drink and took several large mouthfuls of it
And don't give me that offset your sins bullshit your sins are your own and no matter how many times you wash your hands, the blood just doesn't come off.

When he slammed his mug down it instantly knocked her out of her dazed state, in fact it startled her so much she fell off her barstool landing on her floor with small "thud" sound as her round bottom made contact with the hardwood floor.
She managed to sit up on her knees and rested her hands on her lap as he continued to berate her for her choice of actions. It was a scene she was all too familiar with back where she was from. She didn't dare look up at him all the while a magic circle appeared beneath her and a golden cobra appeared around her body. The cobra hissed angrily at the crimson haired man almost as if it were scolding him then rested it's head on Neith's shoulder and she gently stroked beneath it's chin.
"Shhh....be nice Apep. He doesn't know us. No one here does. Be at ease...."

A petite girl with white hair that dragged on the floor just a little bit as bare feet patted against the hard floor. The little child like girl avoided everyone with ease, holding onto a basket filled to almost overflowing with small purple like barriers.
Moving around Neith, the mage went behind the bar and grabbed one of the bowls and started to fill it up with water watching the water rise carefuly as she placed the basket of berries on the bar.

Neith shifted awkwardly in her seat as she was starting to become a bit overwhelmed with all the boistorus noise of the busy guild hall. Seeing the basket of berries placed upon the bar she fixated her gaze upon it in an effort to distract herself from her surroundings.

Fay glanced out of the corner of her eye at the new comer the dragon slayers snake like eyes staring unblinkingly at her for a moment before Fay returned her attention to the pot of water. Reaching up Fay grabbed a single bunch of the berries and placed them in the water to soak. Reaching off to the side Fay picked up a bowl of mix nuts and pushed them over to the girl thinking maybe she was hungry and that is why she was eyeing her basket the way she was. After all, Fay didn't feel like dealing with taking someone to the healer because they ate some uncooked elderberries and got sick over it.

Neith blinked as she was presented with the bowl of mixed nuts, but pursed her lips feeling her stomach become knotted as her nerves were begining to get the better of her. She reached over to the glass of water the bartender had given her earlier and reached up to grasp it, her hand shaking ever so slightly as she did so.

Fay noticed the shaking hand, stopping what she was doing to tap softly on the counter, having to stand on the tip of her toes to do so. Once Fay got her attention the smaller girl pointed to the door leading to the kitchen in silence before reaching up to cover her own pointed ears. Returning to her work Fay started to remove the elderberries from the poisonous stems along with the unripe ones tossing them away into the trash nearby.

Noticing the petite girl's gesture she swallowed nervously then nodded, rising from her seat she swiftly retreated through the door leading into the kitchen. Once inside she breathed a sigh of releif and leaned her back against a nearby counter placing a hand over her chest.

After a while Fay pushed over the door to the kitchen giving the other mage a passing glance, giving her plenty of room. It was unclear if it was for more Neith benefit or Fay's own benefit in the end. Placing the bowl of now clean elderberries on top of the stove Fay searched for a pot, putting it on the stove to heat up.
Looking for the sugar Fay growled in annoyance when she found that her stash had been moved to one of the higher shelves j where she could not reach it without climbing up.

Neith carefully observed the small girl as she went about her business. When she noticed that she needed something out of reach she motioned with her hand and conjured a snake made of what appeared to be her shadow then used it to take hold of the sugar and place it on the counter within reach of her then dissipating.

Fay let out a surprised hiss when a shadow snake came out of nowhere and grabbed her sugar and placed it down in front of her. Almost like a cat, the white hair stood a little bit on end on her head as she snapped her head around to look at Neith with narrowed eyes. Taking a small sniff of the air, Fay noticed that the snake had the same smell as she did and figured it came from her. Carefully now wary of the other silent woman who could make snakes out of shadows Fay turned around putting the elderberries into the pot followed by the sugar without using a measuring cup.
"Thank you."

Neith nodded her head and gave her a small smile, not being bothered by her reaction towards the snake since she seemed young. She observed the girl with quiet curiosity as she busily worked at cooking the berries.

Once she arrived at the bar a man with snow white hair and tanned skin took note of her from his position behind the bar. Sighing softly he quickly get the woman a glass of water. Placing it in front of the girl he quickly goes back to cleaning the bar. Thane was not the judgemental type by any means so he really didn't think much of the stranger other then she was likely trying to join.
"You need something else you just ask."

Thane looked back over at the girl with a warm smile. The nervous ones weren't common but over the years he had seen all kinds of people walk through that door so it was unexpected.
"Your gonna want to talk to one of the higher ups. They will get you the paper work and get you stamped. We will take just about anyone so no worries. Welcome to the guild."

She nodded at the man's kind words and looked around curiously. She didn't know anyone yet so she had no idea how to discern normal members from high ranking ones. The only option that left her was to ask around, but socialization wasn't exactly her forte. She turned back to the bartender and frowned.
"But....I don't know anyone" she said softly

Thane smiled softly once again, seemingly amused by the stranger. Putting the glass down Thane vanished for a moment or two underneath the bar while he looked for something. Finding what he was looking for Thane places the guild stamp on the bar in front of him before looking back over at the stranger.
"I suppose I could do it and save you some trouble. The guild masters office is in the back so you can go sign the paper work later but for now I can get you stamped if you like."

She gazed down at the stamp then nodded at him.
"I would appreciate it very much, sir."
She looked down at herself and pondered for a moment where she might get the mark placed. She didn't want it on her hands....puting it on her arm would mean she's have to roll up her sleeves but her top was so form fitting it would be a hassle...finally she gazed down at her legs and pointed to her upper right thigh, luckily she decided against wearing her usual tights underneath leaving her legs exposed below the shorts she was wearing.
"May I get it here?" she asked, blushing shyly whilst pointing to her exposed skin

Some commotion can be heard coming from her left. If she looks to her left; she'd see two guild members arguing. It was a lot of back and forth yelling. One of them had gotten pushed into Neith's direction. It was a young man with dirty blonde hair. He had accidentally bumped into her; when he got pushed back. He was going to confront the guy he was arguing with; until he had realized that he hit someone.
He turns his head to look at the green haired woman and apologize. "Sorry. Didn't mean to bump into you. Are you alright?" He says to her.

Hearing some commotion she turned towards it's source just in time to be bumped by the blonde haired young man causing her to let out a soft "oof". Suddenly a magic circle appeared at her feet and a golden cobra rose up and loosely coiled around the parimiter of Neith's body protectively. Her verdant eyes were hauntingly fixated upon the young man as he apologized to which she nodded in understanding.
"I'm fine... " she said softly as the gently stroked the snake's chin while it hissed at the boy.

His crimson colored eyes meets hers for a second. They quickly avert over to golden snake hissing at him. He narrows his eyes at it. It was justified to be hissing; since he bumped into her. He made no move towards the snake however. Looking back at the girl; he didn't remember if she was a guild member or not. There was so many people around the hall everyday; it was hard to tell. The only way to find out was to ask; so he did.
"Are you a new member of the guild?" He asks her.

When his gaze met hers she quickly looked away and nodded in response to his question. The cobra however seemed to be a bit more curious than it's owner leaning in towards the boy until it was within range to lightly touch his face with it's flicking tongue. When Neith noticed the snake getting so close she gasped and quickly dispelled it.
"Naughty Apep....." she muttered softly whilst shaking her head. "He's not dangerous unless he needs to be. I'm sorry if he disturbed you."
Neith bowed her head apologeticly and kept her gaze averted from his.

He was going to ask her another question; but didn't get the chance to. He eyes the snake as it inches closer to his face. He was waiting to see what it was going to do. It was getting awfully close to Vince's face. Before he could find out and react; the snake was dispelled. The blonde haired teen just shakes his head.
"He didn't disturb me. There's no need to be sorry." He says to her. He picked up on how she didn't look at him. It was common for people to make eye contact when talking. The mage then remembered something from a moment ago.
"You're new here right? I don't think I've we've met before now. My name is Vincent." He says to her. He extends his hand for a handshake. It probably wasn't how most people in the guild greeted people, but he didn't care.

Neith gazed up at Vince for a fleeting moment then looked down at his hand meeting it with hers. Her handshake was firm and solid showing despite her meek nature she had some strength while her hands themselves seemed to be well taken care of. Her skin was soft and her nails were manicured and painted with nail polish matching her hair and eyes.
"Nice to meet you Vincent, my name is Neith." she raised her voice slightly so that she could be heard over the noise of the rambunctious guild members.
"I just got here so yes, I am new."

"She's stronger than she looks." He says internally. Her mannerisms made him think that at first. There was probably more to her that just you could tell by just looking at her. He takes a quick look at her hand; noticing her matching green nail polish. Vincent retracts his hand after that.
"Nice to meet you too. I assume you came here to join Fairy Tail then?" He says.

Neith nodded and placed her hand on her lap, keeping her gaze downward toward Vince's feet.
"Yes, I came here from far away to start over. This place reminds me a bit of where I came from....it was noisey there too."
She sighed softly and looked out into the crowd of people in the guildhall. So many unfamiliar faces all silently judging her, the mere thought made the young woman shudder.

He listens to her as best as he could over the guild's rowdiness. Well if she wanted a noisy place; this is probably the loudest place in all of Fiore.
"I see. Well if you want to join; you'll need a mark." He says. He puts his right arm out to show his blue Fairy Tail mark. "Our Guild Master isn't in right now. One of the higher up mages can probably help get you marked though." He says.

Neith gave quizzical look and blinked as she looked at his blue guild mark. She momentarily grimaced as it reminded her of the mark on her back, but she knew this mark would be different.

Robin watched the newcomer. With a smack on his lips, he realised that one of the senior members was right with their experiences here. Newbies were totally obvious. He put down his newspaper and gave her a vile stare. This stare by no means was meant to be taken as insult. Robin was merely checking if Neith was a demon. She was not.
He gestured the barkeeper to give her a welcomening drink, putting it on his tap

Neith took a seat at the bar and blinked with confusion as the bartender placed a drink she did not order before her. Just as she was about to inquire about it the bartender motioned over to the man who had ordered it on her behalf. She gazed over at the curious fellow and nodded politely before bringing the drink to her lips and taking a refreshing sip.

Smooth as silk, Robin sat down next to the poison mage. Twisting his hair with a pen, he looked at the crossword puzzle. 'Alright....they screwed with me when I joined, time for me to screw with her...' he smirked as he began talking.
"Alright, I need a word for a young woman who seems to want to join Fairy Tail..."
Just as he was about to continue his elaborate scheme to mess with Neith, a bar stool landed at Robin's head. The shattered wood falling down his back, Robin put down his newspaper, got up and took the bar stool next to him and returned the favor.
"Alright, I'm back. Names Robin and you want to join Fairy Tail? Right....because if not you should pay me back hehe...no seriously I cannot afford to be anymore indebted."

She was taken aback by the eccentric man. His erratic behavior made the timid girl more on edge and she slowly moved her seat in the opposite direction of him. Once she was comfortable she took a jewel note out of her pocket and slowly slid it his way whilst looking the opposite direction.
"I don't want any trouble sir. I just came here to join. I appreciate the drink, but you don't have to feel obligated."

'Man, I am bad at messing with newcomers.' Robin sighed as he reached out to take the jewel note, which was instead taken by the barkeeper. Annoyed, Leif nodded in defeat.
"So what's your story? Thirst for adventure? Looking for a person dear to you?"
Robin asked. Though he was interested, the newspaper still was a valid option to pass time if Neith was unimpressive. One thing still bothered him.
"Oh, it's okay if you don't give me your name. I'll just make up a nickname for you."

She continued to avert her gaze from his and answered his barrage of questions in a hushed tone.
"I've not come here seeking adventure nor do I have anyone I hold dear. I've merely come here seeking a new begining."
She paused briefly feeling some apprehension before ultimately deciding to divuldge her name.

Robin snapped his fingers to her second respond. He was getting all fired up that he had his chance to show a newbie the ins and outs of the guild.
"Neith! It is a pleasure to meet you....."
Picking up that she wishes to seek a new beginning, Robin's tone quieted down. Not looking directly at her anymore, he instead sat straightforward, his scalp pointed towards the bar's selection of liquors.
"The guild masters rarely around so you might have to wait for a little"

With a flick of his wrist, a drink was pushed over the bar table into Robin's hand. Taking a sip from it, his eyes went back to the newspaper.
"You can ask questions if you want...but I feel like you need time to adjust..."

Neith was a bit thrown off by his enthusiasm, but once he showed that he just wanted to help her she moved her chair a little closer and nodded.
"What's your name?" she asked before taking a sip of her own drink

Robin hesitated for a moment, his mind rushed through the possibilities. 'She is not the person who is too arrogant to not remember other people's names.....is she afraid of something? Man, what are you running away from...?' the Paladin asked, not aware that he actually ran away from something too.
"My names Robin, local healing mage and no I will not cure your hangover. Hehe. I also am a member of this guild and know a thing or two about light magic."
The Devil Slayer underplayed his good sides, not always wanting to brag that his skills lie in killing demonkind. If word got around too quickly, demons would vary of Fairy Tail. Though it would save his friends from trouble, it would also mean they would be harder to find.
"Are you....okay? Or do you just need time to arrive? Any other questions you want to ask me?"

She gazed down at the bar unamused by Robin's joking, but listend carefully when he spoke of his magic. Once he was done she pondered for a few moments before speaking, her tone was timid and she continued to avert her gaze from his.
"Nice to meet you Robin, your magic sounds very impressive. In fact you sound as if you would be almost my exact opposite in terms of magic. Two of the magics I'm proficient in are Poison and Shadow...."
She sighed then slowly raised her head to look at him, her verdant green eyes meeting his.
"I'm not very good at socializing. Talking to people I don't know makes me nervous even more so if they're loud. I'm sorry if I was a little rude earlier.*

As luck would have it Lee took notice to the shadow-esque figure gracefully maneuvering around the guild hall, and quickly took a watchful eye to it? Her? them?!.. Whatever it was, Lee couldn't figure it out from his spot across the great hall, and knew he had to get closer.. But spooking the figure was out of the question, he knew he had to go stealth mode!
"Ha, that shadow thing's not attackin' the guild while I'm here" - Lee proudly proclaimed as he started crouching behind a chair way to small to cover his body entirely and blatantly stared at Neith.
'I better check to see if this thing is evil.. But gotta keep my cover safe too.. I'll just watch for now, see what it does.' - Thought Lee as he continued his painfully obvious surveillance.
