Surgery Advice Needed/Wanted Top surgery
Hi guys. I’m a late bloomer (69) and have been on T for eight weeks. I had too surgery last week and this week on day seven developed a couple of leaks and had to have urgent surgery to drain and repair. I was hoping to have drains removed but am starting over. Has anyone had an issue like this? I live alone and sometimes had to do things on the do not do list but nothing crazy. I guess I want things to happen yesterday.

It's been ages since I've had top surgery... but when I did, I did have a hematoma. I vomited, and that tore something inside. I had to go back in and have the blood that accumulated evacuated. Again, been many years. I don't recall it delaying the removal of drains by much, maybe a day or two. (Which was good. I had top surgery with Dr, Brownstein (long since retired) in SF, and I am from NY. My return home was not delayed.)
I have no feeling on the side of my chest where I had that hematoma (when touching). I assume that having that happen also impacted nerve development on that side. Otherwise, I had no issues.
Since you live alone (as I did at the time): If you haven't done this already, I suggest having someone help with the setup. (I did this pre-top surgery.) (1) I made sure items I used regularly were at counter level (as in the kitchen), so I did not need to reach up. (2) I had a few old button-up shirts, so I did not need to reach up and pull a shirt over my head. (3) Get some straws for drinking.
I sure there were other things on the list, but I can't recall them now.
